Trip planning is in full swing now !

The following is a list of restaurants we want to go to - both from recomendations and enjoyment last time.. We have to try to plan these carefully due to DS who is a typical meat eating no veggie nothing green boy !

McDonalds (quick and easy on arrival!)
Wild Jacks
Pizza Planet (DD favourite)
Sci Fi Dine In (too long a wait last time - must try this time)
Mel's drive in
NASCAR cafe
'Ice cream social'
Chef Mickeys CB (booked for DD birthday)
Race Rock
B-Line Diner (sounded wonderful in Simons book)
Rainforest Cafe (Animal Kingdom one - did Downtown last time)
Crown Colony (in Busch Gardens which we didn't visit)
Hard Rock Cafe

Does anyone have any suggestions for ones I've missed and just simply MUST do ????

Tony

Jungle Jims at Crossroads for THE BEST BURGERS EVER
And next door into Marble Slab for icecream:bounce:

Can't say I have ever heard of Wild Jacks. Where is it and what sort of food do they do? Is it buffet style?

We had a lovely meal in Crown Colony a couple of years ago - try to get seated right over on the right hand side as you come up the stairs. This looks right out onto the Serengetti Plain - just fabulous!

They dont do PS's here (or they didnt at that time) but you need to make your reservation as soon as you enter the park Tony - it gets booked up very quick. It might be a case of queuing at Guest Service to book up - but it was worthwhile. Enjoy! :D :D

We liked Logans Steakhouse - there are a few of them around, delicious Steak and lots and lots and lots of Peanuts! (they have them in buckets on the tables, and a big huge drum full in the lobby of each restaurant. You just eat away whilst waiting.

Great fun.

I tried Sci Fi Diner and wasn't impressed. (I know that is my opinion and you will obviously want to form your own!) Firstly it was really expensive and not very much food. In fact it was one of our most expensive meals there. Maybe you will have better luck LOL. Tony Romas restaurant was definitely one of our favourites. The St Louis Rib Sampler is excellent. We also went to Hard Rock Cafe this was very good, excellent value too.

I agree with Wellard, Sci-Fi is great for atmosphere and experience but food wise a bit of a waste. I normally make a PS for around 4ish for Apple Pie and Milkshakes and have just as much fun.

You MUST do :

B-Line - it's fab I love it, one of my faves I really wanna take Paul here. In fact I would really like to stay at the Peabody, it's lush :)

Wild Jacks is OK but have you tried Darryls it's also on I-Drive. I love it there and it's a little cheaper. I think the kids can write on the walls here, but don't quote me on that... I have a vivid imagination.

Another recommendation for Darryls - there is one on 192 near Old Town too. And yes, the kids can write on the walls - although its tough to find any spare wall these days!

Also, if you want meat then Outback is a great steak restaurant. Their 'Blooming Onion' is just delicious and their steaks are great.

One quesiton - with all this eating, when will you find time to do the parks!?! LOL:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Absolutely love Wild Jacks, we go there on every visit, mainly for the Chilli encrusted 18oz New York Strip. Hmmmmm....... :D

We didnt rate the Nascar Cafe when we were there, both for food and theming.

Others we really like and go back to are the Tony's Town Square Restaurant in MK, House of Blues and the Cape May Cafe Seafood buffet at the BC.

Good point Martin on Nascar infact Tony, you may not want to do Nascar and Race Rock...............well you did ask for our suggestions ;) and I've heard nothing but great reports about Race Rock. You could always give ESPN at the Boardwalk a whirl if your DS is into sports that's supposed to be OK.

Find an Olive Garden for great Italian food.
The best and newest is on the south side of I-Drive, but you can find them in quite a few locations.

Hiya

just a little bit of info about the McDonalds on the I-Drive (the biggest micky d's in the world)

found it to be a bit dirty and also while u was eating staff were trying to get you to go to timeshare meetings wasnt nice at all.

The one at downtown disney was very good thou.

Hard Rock Cafe at universal was fantastic :D cant wait to go back

Hi,

Just thought i'd put in my two pennies worth.

I went to 'Race Rock' and 'Nascar' and 'Race Rock' was far superior
my hubby is a huge Nascar fan so we had to go there. the food was nice but the actual restaraunt wasn't exactly enthralling. 'Race Rock' however had fantastic food, atmosphere and service with lots of things to look at. Still not sure how they get speed boats etc to hang from the ceilings.

Oh be warned, 'Race Rocks' portions were huge.

Sue, we went to the Outback and had a fab meal too - like you say the blooming onions are gorgeous !!!!!!!! This I think is a must do (even if it is just for the onion LOL)

Now I can't believe I didn't put Olive Garden - It's one of my favourite off-site restaurants. Love those Bread Sticks :)

If you like something a bit out of the ordinary try Bahama Breeze, wonderful food, good atmosphere, reasonable prices. Some things are a bit spicy but not all of it.
Its the only resaurant that DH insists on going back to.

We also go to Wild Jacks every trip, we really enjoy it.

If you like ribs you may want to try Damons, in the Mercado & Old Town, the ribs are excellent.

Pegasus Wild Jacks is on I Drive just up from Mcdonalds (More in a minute!) its a barbeque style place done Western style the seats are like Leather animal skin and massive cows, bisons Its my fav restaurant in Orlando(That ive been to-I must add!!)
Biggy I must agree with you about the huge Mcdonalds on I Drive its Disgustingly dirty and sticky and a bit smelly too the inside does not do the grand exterior justice!

We are big fans of Friendly's, on th US 192, near the Osceolo Mall......althought the menu is nothing out of the ordinary, the food is delicious and very reasonable and as always huge portions. Good choice for the kids too and the staff are very attentive and 'friendly'.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So much info - so many restaurants, so little time to visit them all!! I may have to extend the holiday again, and will a 747 carry the weight of me and my family once we've eaten most of central Florida !!

General consensus is to miss NASCAR - maybe we'll just have a snack there - likewise Sci-Fi Diner.

I'll add Jungle Jims, Tony Romas, Darryls and Friendly's to my list.

We plan to have a 'dining experience' every evening ! DW will just have to call time on the diet.

20 days to go - I CAN'T WAIT :) :)

Thank you all so much for your help.

Tony

:p

My son wants to go to Hooters (to tell his school mates he's been there!), I quite like the idea too !!!!! DW doesn't think so. Is it a respectable family restaurant ? or is it a bit rowdy ?
