Hi
I have read a little about the restaurants.
I get the impression that most of "full service" restaurants are of the same standards as a British Beefeater or Harvester restaurant. Would I be right in thst assumption?

Not that there's anything wrong with that kind of restautrant but are there any restaurants that sell 'real French food' in DLP.
By Real French Food I don't mean "arm and a leg haute cuisine" I am talking about the kind of fare you might find in a typical French Bistro or Brasserie. (i.e. not defrosted chocolate cake and frozen chips etc)

I am there for 4 days, so I don't want to eat reheated processed food the whole time.
Thanks

A lot of the reastaurants are far superior to a Harvester in food and ambience. Places like The Blue Lagoon and Inventions are top class.

While a lot of the restaurants may not serve bistro type food it's still all freshly prepared and very nice.

You can also head up the road a ways to the Val d'Europe mall area. Lots of god eats there. We found the most AMAZING chinese place... Uh-oh.. there I go drooling on my keyboard. I better clean this up!

thanks, I'll check out the 2 you mentioned oh and the chinese sounds tasty too.
Is the Val d'europe far away.
Can we walk or do we need a bus or train?
Thanks again

California Grill is probably on par with Claridges or the IVY IMHO.

Manhatten Grill and the Yacht Club offer excellent selections.

For a cut above Harvester or Beefeater, I recommend the Auberge de Cindrillon, Walt's, the Silver Spur and the Steakhouse.

For French food, Auberge, California Grill and the Yacht Club are your best choices.

The Chinese at Val d'Europe is indeed an excellent choice, but you will need to take the train to get there.

I would have said that the standard of food was very good onsite. I can't comment on the comparison of the chains you talk about but the food is a large part of why we go back so often.
We keep meaning to go to Val d'europ to eat but never get there.

Looks like I must have read it wrong then.
Looking forward to some good eatin'

I have yet to have a meal at DLp that compared with my favourite restaurants at home. Having said this, we are still on a quest to find really good food there and have booked Auberge du Cendrillon, Blue Lagoon, and Calfornia Grill for this trip.

The Yacht Club was unmemorable compared to fine seafood restaurants here in Ireland, and Walts was overpriced and unimaginative for the adults. But...I still maintain that at least one of the restaurants MUST be serving quality dishes...and I am on a mission!!!!!!:hyper:

You should accomplish this at California Grill or Manhatten Grill. But the Blue Lagoon is aweful, one of the worst table restaurants I have ever eaten at. Shame since the setting is so cool.

I have heeded warning about Blue Lagoon, but my son is insistent, so perhaps just the one course!

I've eaten in The Blue Lagoon about 10 times and always had fantastic food and great service - easily my favourite restaurant in DLRP.

We've eaten at the Blue Lagoon twice ~ I think I would forgive it anything as the setting is so wonderful :rotfl: but both times our food has been very nice. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

IMHO the food is of a better standard than any of the chains you suggest, which are only slightly better than counter service :) As others have said the themeing is what adds to the experience of eating at DLP :goodvibes
