Hey everybody! Can anyone critique our restaurant list and tell me which ones that I should drop? I can only keep 7 of these..

Narcoosees
Le Cellier
Cinderellas Royal Table
California Grilla
San Angel Inn
Kona Cafe
Flying Fish Cafe
Coral Reef
Jiko

I can't comment on what to drop, but I can say keep: Le Cellier, California Grill, and Kona Cafe.

magic626, Can you give us a little more detail about your party so that we can help you?
Do you have children in your group? How many are you? Are you on the DDP? How many nights will you be there?
The more info the more we can help

It's going to be four young adults with no children. Just want a fun and lively atmosphere, yet romantic at times!

I'd drop San Angel Inn and Coral Reef.

I'd definitly keep Kona Cafe, Le Cellier

Easy...I'd drop Cinderella's Royal Table & San Angel Inn.
Ditto.

It's easy for me to say drop CRT since we've been there. It really is worth doing once if you've never been. Otherwise, it's overpriced and slightly overrated.

San Angel Inn doesn't have very good food, and we always seem to encounter some sort of problem there with whatever package we are on. Can't have this, can only have that for desert, etc.

Wow, I'm surprised everyone is saying San Angel Inn and Jiko should be dropped. I heard it's super romantic inside the San Angel Inn with the pyramids and everything. And Jiko got even more stellar reviews. I think I might drop those two if you guys can elaborate why not go to Jiko? Thanks!

PS: Sadly, we are 4 college students and our girlfriends are in love with the "disney" princess theme so thats why we are taking them to go eat dinner inside the castle.

I wouldn't drop Jiko, it is one of the best reviewed restaurants on the boards. And definitely a nice place for adults. I'd drop CRT personally unless you feel you must eat at the castle. I don't think the food measures up to the location.

I would drop CRT it is overrated and we felt rushed. Personally I do not feel it is value for money.

Dont drop Jiko

In light of what you've said, I'd keep CRT. You'll get mega points for being thoughtful enough to arrange this for your GFs. ;)

San Angel Inn can be romantic. It can also completely lack in atmosphere. We were once seated by the rest rooms. No romance there. The food is more authentic than Tex-Mex. For our family, that's a big plus. I think some people don't care for it, because they prefer Tex-Mex. Nothing wrong with that, but you may not like the food, if you like Americanized Mexican food.

From your list, I'd drop Coral Reef & Le Cellier. I know I'll get flogged for suggesting dropping LC, but I'm still amazed at it's popularity. The food is good, & we do eat there occasionally. It's just not our favorite Epcot restaurant, & we've had better steaks elsewhere. Mostly, it's crowded & loud. If you're looking for quiet & romantic, this isn't the place. I suggested CR due to process of elimination. You've got a great list, & most of them I wouldn't drop.

I've never eaten at Kona, but it gets great reviews on here.

Yes, the atmosphere in San Angel Inn is wonderful. Actually, way back when on our WDW honeymoon some 16 years ago San Angel Inn was one of the best meals we had. The romantic atmosphere combined with very good food to make for a memorable experience. Unfortunately, the food quality has declined to the point where the atmosphere just doesn't make up for it.

As for CRT, eating in the castle will be a memorable experience for you. It is kind of neat, even though it is a bit expensive for what you get. But you are going for the experience and not the food.....that's the way to look at it.

Given the list you have, I'd suggest dropping Kona. Not that Kona is bad, but it just isn't as nice as most of the other places you have listed.

Are you going to be on the dining plan? You have an awful lot of 2 TS meals on the list if you are, so you might consider dropping one of those (Flying Fish or Jiko).

Easy San Angel and Coral Reef (you will have seafood at Flying Fish and it is much better!!!)
The rest of your list is just AWESOME, great choices!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

More authentic is a good thing if done well.....I just don't think they do it well. The mole sauce just wasn't very good, and the filete could fit in your eye. But you are right, it isn't Tex-Mex if that is what someone is looking for.

It's tough to recommend dropping anything from the list (for food reasons) other than San Angel and CRT. If you keep CRT you have to drop another based on atmosphere. While I think the quality is very high at Le Cellier, it isn't the most romantic place. Then again, it is more romantic than Kona.

So, all things considered, I recommend dropping San Angel and Kona. Now if Kona still had the Koko Puffs.......but I digress.

You should check out Boma and Ohana's, my DH 25 and me and two of our friends went there on our last trip and loved them!

I'd definitely drop San Angel Inn - the food was ok and the atmostphere was ok but at times I felt like we were in the food court of an airport. The tables were very close together and it seemed loud.

Jiko was good, but I preferred Boma at the AKL.

Kona was very good, I especially like the desserts there.

Does price matter to you? You have quite a few expensive restaurants on your list!

I would definitely not drop California Grill - the food there is fantastic and if you're there at the right time, you can go outside to watch the fireworks.
