Restaurants to choose that will reduce food costs without anyone noticing?

Thanks for all of the ideas. Since we will be eating mostly quick service I think I will carry in drinks and drink packets for water. I also like the idea of sharing with the idea that we will snack in a couple of hours. I need my Mickey ice cream sandwiches. :)

Then where are you saving money? ( wasn't that the original intent) or would you be getting the snack anyway?

Its all about Trail End. Tremendous value.....
Ssssh...Karlzmom, trails end and Olivia's in OKW are what I call my little known treasures. I think if the word got out and they became Uber popular
they'd change

My plan is to eat breakfast in the room. I found a deal on We Go Shop's website for a $100 gift certificate for $75 so I'm going to buy breakfast items, room snacks and drinks. We will eat breakfast in the room everyday. Also, if everyone carries in their own drinks it will save us approx. $2.59 per meal per person and $$$ on bottled water.

I think my two teen boys and maybe my husband will need full meals... no doubt there but I can share with my 8 year old daughter or we can both order kids meals. Not sure about teen daughter. My goal is really to our meals down from $100 each ($15x6) to $70 each. So looking for quick service locations that might be more conducive to this budget. The teens will be touring on their own but we will meet for meals. Hoping to contain costs without anyone really noticing... ya know?
No matter how much I eat for lunch or dinner, a couple of fun snack everyday is a must. We on vacation after all!popcorn::

We will be spending a few days at Disney prior to a cruise this fall. I'd like to only eat lunch in the room and then eat out for other meals. The only problem is that there will be 6 (5 Disney adults-- Me, DH, DS18, DS16, DD16 and DD8) of us this time. I've done the math and even eating quick service for the rest is a bit high compared to our budget.

Any suggestions for restaurants inside the parks to choose that will put us UNDER the average of $15 per meal per person?

Pecos Bill in Magic Kingdom is inexpensive & gives you a good amount of food, to which you can add to with the fixings bar they have.

Don't forget, there's always a big turkey leg you can get too. Pick up a cup of fries & it's a meal

Almost every single CS entree is under $15. I think the most expensive I have found at MK is the Tuna Nicoise at BOG for $13.99. It's pretty easy to find an entree "combo" for $10 or less. That "combo" is usually sandwich and then side of fries (or whatever that locations healthy option is). So simply choosing wisely, asking for a cup of ice water (as pointed out a few times) doing a meal for $15 or less at a CS is very easy to do. Just look at the menus online to see that some locations (like BOG) tend to have a slightly higher average cost than other locations and simply skip those. One of the most filling affordable meals on property are the combo platters at Tangierine Cafe.
