What are some suggestions for places to eat and other things to do with a 4 year old? We have a few days we will not be going to Disney.

Crayola Experience was awesome! Legoland is really laid-back fun, just right for a preschooler. Also, we love the Legoland water park. There's the Orlando Eye, and I believe there's a pretty good aquarium in Orlando (not Sea World).

Gonna 2nd all of the above...and mention that Seaworld has a 3 pack park pass and a 14 day park pass that allow admission to SeaWorld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens, and the Tampa waterpark for $109 and $139/person, so you can have a lot of fun at kid-type parks for not a lot of money.

Sealife is the other referenced aquarium. Crayola and Legoland are both great ideas and really not expensive. If you have a science museum pass already, you can do the Orlando Science Center (I wouldn't pay the admission fee for it, but free is an awesome price for it. There are trampoline parks (and bounce houses) all around the area that are good for everyone. There is also Dinosaur World, Gatorland, Green Meadows Petting Farm, and Central Florida Zoo, depending how much your child likes animals and what types.

And there's the beach if you're willing to drive...

It really depends if you're looking for "down day" activities or "get up and go" long ones...

Where are you staying? If you are staying at a timeshare resort, most have activity centers for kids. They participate in games, make crafts and all sorts of stuff. That has been my experience and that's what I used to do with my daughter when she was a toddler. We have been going every year since she was 1 years old and I never ran out of things for her to do. She has a bank, jewelry, sand-art and all kinds of stuff she made in the kids club activitiy centers. And the best part was I didn't have to leave the resort to have fun with her. We played mini-golf on the property. There was a playground she liked. But she loved floating around the pool in one of those blowup floating things they sit in. By the time she was 4 she was swimming with the help of arm floats but swimming none the less. She would get out the pool and join in with hula-hoop contests, dance contest and other stuff going on poolside. I would look on the website of the place you are staying and see what they have to offer. If you are staying on Disney property then I would suggest to ask others what type of stuff do the kids do on down time from Disney. When I stayed onsite my daughter was 7. We didn't even visit the pools. We did Disney every day for 4 days. Then we moved offsite to a timeshare resort and my little girl really spread her wings and had a blast. She is 9 years old now and she doesn't care if we go to Disney or not. She is in love with spending 10 days in Florida at the timeshare resorts. She can't get enough of the poolside activiites and kids clubs. Last year we stayed at Bonnet Creek and she won the dance contest with her moves. She was so good that the bartender shut the bar down for a few minutes to go dance and learn some of her steps. It was comical !!!!

Yes....and I forgot to mention we drove to Clearwater Beach twice and my daughter enjoyed that too !!
