Restaurants Outside Disney?

Hi Everyone,
We're two adults who will be going back to the BCV next month and are looking for really good restaurants outside Disney, having just about tried all of those in the Disney parks and hotels. We don't always have a car so are looking for somewhere we can get to by a short-ish taxi ride. Can anyone recommend anywhere? We really enjoyed Pebbles and are open to all kinds of food but would like somewhere which is adult orientated.

Thanks.

There's a Landry's Seafood restaurant and a Bahama Breeze restaurant on SR 535 just south of I-4. This is about 3 miles from Downtown Disney.

You know, this probably doesn't go with your request but it was just soo much fun I thought I would mention it anyway.
Right outside of WDW property there is this sweet little McDonalds - yeah I know, but wait there's a catch!

It's a Gourmet McDonlads... apparently they're all therage in Europe, but this is the only one in the United States. It's still a McDs and the layout is still fairly similar, but the inside is tacky/glitzy and there a couple of high backed soft chairs at some of the tables towards the windows... most of the food is the same, but there are a couple of offerings not on the main menu (well, there were when we went)... food quality are about what you would expect at a McDs but so are the prices...

It was just kind of neat because it was a unique experience, we had a gas there our last breakfast before heading home. :lmao:

If you can get out to the Dr. Phillips area (not too far from WDW), there are a ton of good restaurants on Sand Lake Road. Our favorite is Roy's; it's a seafood place, and for freshness & preparation, it blows anything on WDW property out of the water, V&A's always excepted. Their blackened tuna is amazing; they fly it in fresh every day. I can honestly say it's the best thing I've eaten in my life, from a restaurant of that price category ($22-30 for entrees).

Here is our review, with pictures, if you're interested:

Hi, we love Bergamo's with the singing wait staff....and I mean excellent singers...lots of Disney cast members, local actors and actresses making a buck waiting tables....excellent Italian food to boot...

It's a really good idea to eat outside the bubble but a car is a helpful. An earlier poster mentioned Sand Lake Road. Locals call that restaurant row. I'd recommend season's 52 which is run by the chef that made California Grill famous or Moonfish which is across the street. A bit close to Disney is the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. Hemingway's is a really nice restaurant.

Thanks everyone for the fantastic sounding recommendations. We're on full countdown now, going in just 8 days so will definitely take these restaurant names with us.

Contrary to what has been posted above, there are NO RESTAURANTS outside of Disney World. There is no need to wander away to look around. Please remain on Disney property at all times and enjoy your visit. Mickey thanks you.
