Restaurants open Christmas Day in the evening?

We will be traveling on Christmas day and I just started to think that we may have a hard time finding food on the road. Does anyone know places that might be open Christmas day for dinner?

We are waking up Christmas morning, opening gifts from Santa and then heading to Florida to see the in-laws. I figure we will make it somewhere around Chattanooga when we stop for the night.

We drove down last Christmas day to take our daughter back for work the next day. We only found a Subway at Monteagle open and a Denny's in Georgia - I think it was at exit 212 or 312 off of 75. I only remember that because there is an outlet mall at each of those exits I go to occasionally.

Monteagle = the big scary mountain going South on 75 just before you get to Chattanooga. I hate driving over that mountain!

The last time we drove on a holiday, we packed our lunch and dinner in a cooler. We did sandwiches for lunch and cold fried chicken for dinner. Then we didn't have to hunt for a place that was open.

Is it possible for you to do that?

The only thing we found last year on xmas was a truckstop. I'd have a backup snack ready incase it takes a while to find something open!

Food was good, but had a loooong drive past a lot of closed places before we found it.

Dennys, Burger Kings and I am just finding out that alot of Ihops are open on Christmas. Also like someone else said you can usually find an open Chinese place.

Ok, it's after midnight here & everyone except me is gone to bed & I almost woke them up laughing at this. Guess I need to go to bed too! Thanks for the laugh though!

The only place that might open is the Waffle house in Chattanooga for sure. The Chinese place Chef Lin will be open and that is it.

P.S. There is a threat of snow and might be out luck totally. Everything shuts down wen mention snow. Go luck going over Monteagle mountain in snow one brave person.

Now it not that bad at all. You just how watch for the truckers. I have drove a lot and consider easy pie. Now in the winter time now it no way h@ll get me going over the mountain that scary. It threat of snow to good luck.

Around here everything will be open. Then again, the demographic of the town is 90% (or higher) Jewish population.. so its more of a normal weekend than Christmas.

Grocery stores, Wawa, Houlihans, Cheesecake Factory, Brio, Maggiano's will all be open.

The only change is that retail stores will be closed ie Target and such.

My DH and I went to dinner the other night at Unos and they had a sign that they would be open from like 3 or 4pm on. I don't know if all of them will be or if that is chain wide but it leads me to think many more may be following that, open just in the evening.

We tried to eat out 2 years ago on Christmas night, and both of the Denny's by my house were closed. We were totally shocked. We finally found a local sports bar open.
