Hi All

A nurse at our doctor's office is going to WDW in early August, before free dining, and has the Dining Plan. She has asked me for some restaurant recommendations for her family. It will be herself, her husband and two daughters (13 &16). We have never travelled with teenagers so I was hoping that someone could give me some suggestions. I don't really know what their personalities are like so sorry I can't offer insight there, although their Mom is really outgoing! The first one that popped into my mind was 50s Cafe. Do teenagers like that?

I don't have a 16 year old, but my 13 loved 50's prime time! We went to WDW for her 13 b-day and her favorite place to eat was Teppan Edo, she thought it was cool the way they cooked the food in front of us! :)

When our daugther was still a teenager (not so long ago), she really liked the Sci-Fi at Hollywood Studios not so much because of the food but because of the atmosphere. We are eating at Coral Reef this year (she's never been there but we have) and I think it's a unique place to eat because you're surrounded by the aquarium. We like the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom because it's a fantastic buffet so everybody in our family can find something they like. We don't eat dinner at Animal Kingdom. We usually go to Downtown Disney and eat at Rainforest Cafe which is really cool. This year, we are giving the new T-Rex restaurant a try.

For TS, my 17DD loves 50's Prime Time, Teppan Edo, and California Grill (to eat and view fireworks). She tolerates Brown Derby and Boma beacause I like them!

CS, she loves Earl of Sandwich and Beaches and Cream.

A few of my DD16's favorites are:

Liberty Tree Tavern
Earl of Sandwich
Tutto Italia
Rose and Crown

My kids will be 13 and 15 next trip. Their choices haven't changed much since they were small -they prefer atmosphere to food. Their must do's are Sci Fi and Chef Mickey's. Also they would like to do the Teppanyaki place in Epcot, Planet Hollywood and the eldest keeps asking about Hoop De Do - we haven't been since he was 4 or 5, So I guess we'll go next year.

I'll be the first to admit that the food isn't great quality in any of these, aside from the Teppanyaki but they're a lot of fun.

MY oldest son, who is 19, loves 50's Prime Time. Both of my son's love ESPN zone but they are sports fans. If the girls are sports fans, that would be the place to go.

I am a teenager myself and my favorite Disney restaurants are Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's, and 50's. I love character meals despite my age because you can't get them anywhere else. It all depends on your teens preferences.

My DDs loved Sci Fi and ESPN. Younger DD loves Brown Derby. Now that they are now young adults, they still requested Sci Fi and Brown Derby for our upcoming trip!

DD loves Teppen Edu, Coral Reef, LeCellier and Chef Mickeys. This year she did not want to go to Sci Fi or Primetime.

We took our 18-year old son for his high school graduation and his then girlfriend who was 17. Out of the restaurants we went to, their favorites were: Chef Mickey's at dinner (they had a blast waving napkins), Biergarten, Sci-Fi, Plaza, Fulton's (although Fulton's is NOT on the dining plan) and Crystal Palace for breakfast.

My children are not even close to being teens yet, but i think 50's Prime Time Cafe and Sci-Fi Dine would be perfect! Both are so fun, and the older kid will get a kick out of it. I'm also a firm believer that anyone of any age becomes and insta-kid (think back to the disney commercial where two kid are riding together, then they walk past the mirror and it is really his dad...melts my heart lol) With that said, I think even older tough guy kids wiould enjoy a character meal or two!:thumbsup2

My sister really liked Coral Reef, because such a nice environment. This year she requested the restaurant in France, because she wants to try something new. I think teens tend to like the World Showcase restaurants because they are different, so you could suggest they pick on of those.

Our teen loves Le Cellier and Sci Fi..those are musts on his list. At DTD he always insists on Planet Hollywood.

I have an 18 year old. Her top picks in order were:

1. 1900 Park Fair breakfast with Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger
2. Biergarten
3. 50s Prime Time
4. Marrakesh

My DD's are 13 and 15 and they love Beaches & Cream at the Yacht & Beach Club. With 2 adults & 2 teens they may want to get the Kitchen Sink- if only for the priceless looks on the girls' faces when it arrives!
They also like Whispering Canyon Cafe because it is so funny.

My DD(almost 15) loves Teppan Edo. She also enjoyed Chefs de France on our last visit (may have had something to do with our waiter, Nicholas though;)). At home, she balks at every new thing I make for dinner, but on vacation she loves trying all the most exotic things. She is pulling for Jiko in September.

Of the character meals, she probably likes Crystal Palace best--I recommend an early before park opening breakfast there!

On 50's Prime Time Cafe, I think you have to know the teens. We avoided this one last time just because we had my neice with us. She would not have taken well to the antics there, so we didn't do it. Some would love it, some would be mortified!

I was there as a teen and loved Sci Fi! We don't have drive ins in these parents, so this was the closest thing to one! I can tell you as a younger teen I would have loved the decor of 50s PTC, but I highly doubt I would have liked the playing around they do with you there. I am dining there for the first time next month, but I am older now and more laid back than I was as a teen! She knows her kids best and will know if they will take the teasing at PTC to heart or not.

I'm 17. My top 5 are (in order):

TS:
1. Le Cellier
2. Teppan Edo
3. Les Chefs de France
4. 50s Prime Time
5. Biergarten

CS:
1. Sunshine Seasons
2. Pecos Bill's
3. Yakitori House
4. Yak & Yeti
5. Pinocchio Village Haus (I love Figaro Fries).

I've been taking 2 teenage girls for 5 years now. Their favorites are:

Sci Fi
50's Primetime
Planet Hollywood
Rainforest Cafe
Le Cellier
Whispering Canyon
Rose & Crown
