Restaurants for Girls

I would love some help. We are taking our 2 nieces (8 & 5) to Disney in August. I would love some suggestions on which restaurants to take them to. Which restaurants did your kids love? I know what my husband & I love, but that doesn't necessarily mean the girls will love them. We will be staying at the Grand Floridian. We will have our 1 yr old son as well, but this trip is for our nieces and once he has food he is generally easy going and happy.

The post headline made me smile, because the question usually is phrased as where to find good meals for boys.

Right there at the GF is 1900 PF; depending on what specifically interests the girls, you can try either breakfast or dinner there with a different slate of characters.

Winnie the Pooh fans can't go wrong at Crystal Palace in the MK.

For 'princesses', you have Akershus at Epcot and Cinderealla's Royal Table @ Magic Kingdom. GF also has the 1900 Park Fair which has characters for both breakfast and dinner (Mary Poppins, Alice, Tigger, Pooh & Mad Hatter for breakfast; Cinderella, Step Sisters, Stepmom and Prince Charming for dinner).

oh and in addition, GF has a Wonderland Tea Party which Mad Hatter and Alice join in on. My daughter LOVED this.

Certainly, 1900 PF would be a real treat for the girls since they can pick and choose foods they want, and the character interaction is excellent. When younger, my daughter also loved the Akershus breakfast. Other non-character meals she enjoyed were Artist Point (pricey but a lovely experience) and WCC.

Chef Mickey's for the classic characters. I've also read that the Trattoria al Forno in Epcot is going to have a character breakfast soon with Ariel and Eric, Rapunzel and Flynn.

As others have said, 1900 and Akershus are the first two to jump to mind. My 4 year old daughter loves Cape May (she likes seeing them dressed in beach clothes).

Dinner at 1900 PF in the GF is wonderful...the characters are a blast!

You may also want to consider the new Rapunzel/Flynn and Ariel/Eric character breakfast at Trattoria al Forno.

For a non character meal, Mama Melrose in DHS was my kids favorite. The restaurant also offers a package with Fantasmic FPs.

Was going to suggest Cape May - but just FYI - the characters are only there for breakfast. 1900 would be great too.

Well I don't have kids of my own, but when I was their ages, I loved chef mickeys (to my dads chagrin, he is not a fan of buffets). I also really enjoyed sci fi every time, it was so fun to watch the clips and feel like I was at the drive in. I also liked 50s prime time and seeing mom and dad get picked on, and the food was great for me, as I was a super picky kiddo. Also, I didn't do this until I was a teenager, but afternoon tea at GF with my mom was lovely. If your nieces are at all into tea parties, might be something fun to look into! Honestly as long as there is something on the menu they will like, I think they will have a wonderful time as long as they are at Disney!

Our kids favorite meals are CP brft(also have lunch and dinner) in MK with Pooh and Tigger gang, Tusker House brft in AK with Mickey and the Gang in Safari gear(also have lunch and dinner), and Cape May brft in BC with Minnie and friends.

For princesses the castle is very magical, and again you can do any meal. You can also arrange appt at BBB for them beforehand, but will want to do it at 180 days to tie in with your meal. We have done the basic package and brought our own dress, or you can splurge or the full makeover. 1900PF dinner with the stepsisters is a lot if fun as well. The new meal at Boardwalk with the couple's sounds like it will be fun as well. Also for CS meal, you can make the ADR for lunch at BOG for them to check out the Beast's Castle.

For noncharacter spots, we like Coral Reef in Epcot to sit by the aquarium (DD watched more than she ate!) and Sci-Fi in HS eating at the drive-in.

I know a lot of people don't care for it but I have to say Cinderella's Table. There is just something about getting to eat in the castle. Akershaus is great for Princess interaction as well.

Although I haven't been there yet (someday!) I believe Afternoon Tea at the GF has a special menu choice for children who might not care for tea. That seems like something I would have loved at their ages!

I also think Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are great for both girls and boys!

Our girls were 8 and 6 for our last trip.

1900 (breakfast and dinner) were both so enjoyable that they are must do this trip too.

Ohana was fab for out older daughter who loves Stitch.

The princesses at Akerhaus were very popular too.

For the fab five, Tusker House or Cape May breakfast.

We skipped Crystal Palace as the girls considered themselves far too sophisticated for Pooh and friends...

I took my little Princesses to Chef Mickey, BOG breakfast, Akershus breakfast, CRT dinner, 1900 PF breakfast and dinner, and 'Ohana breakfast. I figured the girls should visit every Castle, and also meet the Tremain family as well as some of the classics.
