Restaurants empty

Just got back from a stay from 10/22 to 10/27 and the restaurants were empty! I didn't have any ADRs because we were eating at the F&W festival every day so we didn't need to eat anywhere else. But checked out of curiosity and nearly all the retaurants in Epcot had tables available when you walked right up. There were tons of empty tables and no one waiting for them. There wasn't even a crowd gathered outside of Le Cellier waiting as there normally is. Good time of year for getting into places if you aren't interested in eating from the F&W kiosks from what I saw.

We ate at Le Cellier on Sunday, 10/25 (lunch). We saw several people ask for tables for both lunch and dinner and all were turned away. EPCOT was extremely crowded that particular day.

CRT seemed to have ample availability when i checked two days ago - I was able to pick my preferred time for a breakfast ressie on a Wednesday morning in late January - other days that week had availability as well.

In June, we had dinner at R & C and it was fairly empty and our server complained to us they were turning people away at the door. Boatwright's was really empty.

:confused3

I have found that getting into the restaurants is generally easier than these boards make it sound. It doesn't help that CMs often say there are no reservations but the restaurant will let you right in.

I go at off peak times (usually marathon week) and don't eat right at the standard meal times and have walked into just about anywhere I want with no more than a 15 minute wait.

Now, I don't try for places like Le Cellier but have walked right into Tusker House, Biergarden, Boma, Crystal Palace, and The Wave with no more than a 15 minute wait even though I was told on the phone there were no ADRs available.

Do you mind if I ask what you had and how you liked it. DH and I have ressies for Jan. for lunch at Le Cellier and we haven't eaten there in several years. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We will be on the regular dining plan. I want DH to enjoy his meal so we can do it again. He isn't one that handles change well.:rotfl:
