Family of 4 - including 2 that are ages 5 & 7.....

Where do you recommend we eat BEFORE we go to the Port?

.....We've already done the Rainforest at DTD.......
Considering all the resorts, etc, and even just around Orlando - what restaurants do you recommend that are REALLLLLLY good?

How about this..... Go to the Boardwalk. Get breakfast at the pastry shop and sit outside overlooking the lake. It's beautiful in the morning when everything is just starting to rev up. It's an awesome way to start your day.

Hey, where is the Boardwalk - at DTD ????

or do you mean part of a resort???

Thanks for your rec!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Boardwalk is an Epcot Resort. They have a huge boardwalk with lots of entertainment and restaurants. I have seen it from beach Club but not been actually there. It is on the lake by epcot. Follow the signs to the Epcot hotels.

We are going to Beaches and Cream. It's part of the Yacht and Beach Club resorts and has an outside entrance. Very good 50's/60's food. It's just a place we like to go to while we are at WDW. We are going to stop for a snack at DTD that day though and decided not to eat our meal at DTD but I've heard Wolfgang Puck's is good.

My family always loves doing the character buffet @ the Contemporary (a MK resort) before heading to the ship. I would make reserv. WAY beforehand, tho. (60 days prior is what I believe is allowed) as it is very hard to get a specific day & time. Small kids LOVE it. (So do big kids - just ask my husb.)

We are doing as dclwdwlover suggested and we have a 9:00 PS at Chef Mickey's character breakfast at the contemporary for the morning that we leave for the port. I made this reservation about 50 days prior to our embarkation day of 8/28/03 and was able to get a good time. The kids love the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's!

Good luck with whaever you decide to do.

Wolfgang Pucks IS good... and also the nice Italian Restaurant at EPCOT... don't remember the name.

Also, as a side comment, we did the comedy club at Pleasure Island, really enjoyed that. we saw it twice the evening we were there last.

We liked the rest. in the Polynesion, not the character breakfast one. But a lot of times if we are going outside the park we had to IHOP. You always count on a decent fast breakfast if you pressed for time to get to the ship.

My favorite restaurant is the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. They have a nice character breakfast in the morning and an outstanding seafood buffet in the evening.
