HI - we are going to WDW for the first time in 25 plus years, taking kids 8 and 6 years old... any restaurant suggestions and should we make reservations? We have taken them to many adult restaurants (not fast food) and they are fine in that enviroment

Your suggestions will be a great help!! Thanks

I have an 8 and 5 yr old (a 3 yr old too). My eight yr old told me that Chef Mickey's, Columbia Harbour House, Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast and Spoodles are her favorites. While there has never been a meal that we didn't care for at WDW, our favorites for our family are:
1900 Park Fare ~Breakfast
'Ohanas ~Dinner
Spoodles ~Dinner
Columbia Harbour House ~Lunch
We also enjoy Boma's for dinner as well.
I usually make a PS because I have fun doing it:D

I always vote for Yactsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club resort, especially if your family likes steak! (lobster is good too!)

I would say give a couple of character meals a try. Chef Mickey's for dinner and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast would be our votes.

I would like to add some names to the great suggestions you have gotten...

Liberty Tree Tavern - MK - menu for lunch and an all you can eat meal served family style at dinner with characters

Cape May Cafe - Beach Club - The character breakfast buffet is very good. Often is a less hectic than others.

Boma - Animal Kingdon Lodge - A wonderful buffet in a beautiful setting.

As far as reservations go ... if you traveling during busy times, yes, you should. If you hate waiting, yes, you should. They are easy to make and equally easy to cancel if your plans change. You can call 407-WDW-DINE.

Have you looked at the menus on Deb's site?

We just returned and a couple of suggestions I have are:
Breakfast - 1900 Park Faire, the food here was very good, especially their made to order omelets, we had my 7 & 14 year old cousins with us and they are both very picky eaters and they both enjoyed it very much.

Dinner - Whispering Canyon Cafe - their all you can eat skillet is very good and they have horse races every so often to enterain the kids.
