I will be at WDW for 2 weeks in Jan and am looking for a fairly nice place to take my folks to dinner. My Mom and I will try different things, my Dad, pretty much a meat and potatoes or seafood kind of guy. we are already dining at Garden Grill and Hoop De Doo Revue as a family. Some places i have read a bit about and are conisdering are:

Jiko at AKL
Il Mulino at Swan
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Le Cellier

any suggestions?

Also considering going to Cape May Clambake on a different night. We love seafood, is it good or will we be dissappointed?

Thanks

From my own experience I love Yachtsman Steakhouse. Delicious food and I honestly like it better than Le Cellier. I had the filet there and it was to die for and also the environment is very relaxing and nice.

Il Mulino is very very good. This would be my top choice out of those you have selected.

Jiko is pretty good but if your dad wants meat and potatoes, it may be tough here. The entrees are not as unusual as the appetizers are but your dad may still find the food too unusual for his liking.

Yachtsman is okay. It's a very meat and potatoes kind of place and nothing adventurous about it. Still, it's a nice enough steakhouse. Not on the level of Ruth Chris, but it's okay.

Le Cellier. I'm one of the few on the disboards who don't fall on the ground to worship this place. Besides the fact that you won't have a very good chance of getting in at this late date, it's a theme park restaurant. It's crowded, noisy, and serves mediocre food.

Cape May is a buffet. It's very casual dining with casual food. I would not call it good seafood. If you are looking for good seafood, go to bluezoo or Flying Fish.

I would check out the menus on allears.net and see which appeal to you the most. That's how we decided which new TS to eat at. Also, if you have day's planned which is easier to get to from where you will be. Raglan Road had pretty good seafood in DTD as another suggestion. THey also have live Irish entertainment every night.

I like Coral Reef. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food is good too. Also, 50s Prime Time Cafe food is amazing and its a fun place...but kinda noisy!

Epcot: I ate at (I'm going to spell this wrong but I'm sure you can figure out which one i mean :-) Chef de France and it's a nice restuarant. No outrageous food choices so your father should be fine. They do have ratatoie (again can't spell :-) but he does short visits and he's very cute. It doesn't cheapen the experience.

Le Cellar looked very nice and I tried my hardest to get a reservation with no luck.

Hollywood Studios: The Brown Derby is a very nice steak restaurant.

YSH at the YC or Narcoosee's at the GF ( you should book Narcoosee's at the time when WISHES is happening at the MK, you will get a get view of WISHES, and they dim the lights and pipe in the music)

Thanks for the suggestions so far! we are doing 50's Primetime Diner twice while there. we like that place. Also we have done the French restaurant and The Coral Reef. I want to try something different maybe somewhere we havent been before. And since we stay at Fort Wilderness, we've never been to places such as Swan, Boardwalk, Yacht, Beach etc. Thought something along those lines would be nice to check out.

If anyone has had Maggianos Italian before, is Il Mulino similar?

I have looked at the menus on allears but with so many to choose from...its hard to pick just 1!
