Food is always important to us on our hols and this visit was no different. one moan only was poor value and choice for the half board plus vouchers, if you are a couple looking for table service this is a good choice but for a family looking for character and buffets its very limited.
anyway over to the food...
crystal palace - day 1. this day the park was at full capacity so no surprise that the restaurant was full and noisey. food was ok quality - we like it here as it gives us good options for me the veggie and 1 fussy child. it would have been nicer if we hadn't been next to noisey people who kept bumping past us as they got out their chairs. however we got what we wanted and filled us up for the rest of the day.
new york buffet - day 2. never ate here before but was pleasantly surprised. quality of food was a step up from the crystal palace and the setting was good. nice and quiet so didn't have to q for the food. lovely ice cream for the children and fab desserts for me! yum. had a lovely pasta in blue cheese sauce and a gorgeous chocolate pastry oooh and cold rice pudding.
disneyland hotel buffet , inventions - day 3. upgraded our HB plus voucher to eat here but wanted the character experince and have never eaten here. it cost us £75 extra for 4 of us on top of the voucher so it was expensive but i tried not to let this detract from the best meal of the week. it was small and intimate and the food was a higher standard to the new york food. i had a lovely salad to start, mushroom lasagne, potatoe thing as well as lots of other bits. desserts were gorgeous and a tasty cheescake. would have been nice to j=have coffee included but overall really good food. we had a few characters - chip and dale, mickey, goofy and we had a good bit of time for autographs and photos.
not sure how i would feel about paying the £150 it would have cost but at disney paris everything sems over inflated. it was a lovely experince overall though and a great disney memory for this trip.
cafe mickey - day 4. i've never eaten here, always looks a bit cheap and tacky to me so wasn't really thinking it would be much cop but we booked because of the characters. well i'm pleased to say i was VERY impressed. the food was of a high standard, garlic mushrooms, veggie pasta and fab chocolate pud. there was lots of charatcers - we saw about 9! and the staff were friendly and for value and experince i would give this a 10/10.
day 5 we had just a quick counter service from en coulisse in the movie park. big portions so me and my daughter shared a meal with an added portion of chips. filled a hole and let us get the most out of our last day.
hot chocolate was good for breakfast in the sequoia and the usual break items.
food rating overall - 8/10 you need to plan meal sif you have vouchers and want to get the most out of your meals.
ps i have never advance booked for meals before, last week we had to do everyone. we booked cafe mickey the day we arrived and we could only get in on the thursday. so if going peak times maybeyou need to think about this.
