Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

Well it is Christmas day here in the UK, Merry Christmas everyone.

We spent this evening at our friends house for dinner. We don't have any Christmas eve traditions as Christmas day and the 26th Dec (what we call Boxing day) are the 2 holiday days here that we have traditions for.

Eve tradition is getting the kids in their jammies early enough so Santa can come! :santa: I don't have that problem anymore tho - ;) 21 & 12yo's! :thumbsup2

Spent Eve with my DISbro/Dbro, Rory (blamemysister) and his family and sister-in-law's family and a couple of their friends. :goodvibes TOO MUCH FOOD!!!! :scared1:

'Santa' still has 1 stocking to fill, but I'm done, otherwise. :cool1:

Day we are spending at home, playing the Wii game 'Santa' is bringing!

My mom, as always, gave us all matching holiday jammies - My DSIL & I match, and my DD & DN match, with matching jammies for their dolls as well! Sleepover!

:santa:Merry Christmas Everyone!:santa:

Are you hitting any after Christmas sales today? What stores? What are you looking for?

I have to admit that I took advantage of the Boxing day sales. I went to Michaels, Canadian Tire, and Liquidation World. I picked up lights for the house, a pile of gift bags and misc stuff cheap for next year.

DD and I went out.
We hit Walgreens, Target, Walmart, Party City and Albertsons :rotfl:
Got paper, bags, lots of bath type gift packs for presents for the coming year, cards, candy and a couple of decorations.

Yes we did go out today, went to Walmart. Was looking for ornament storage boxes but they didn't have the ones we wanted, however we still spent over $100. :rolleyes1

What kind of Christmas tree do you have? How tall?
When did you put it up? When will you take it down?

No, I had to work our after Christmas sale, it wasn't to bad yesterday since we didn't have much left. I work in a gift store that sells Hallmark and we only had 16 rolls of wrapping paper left, last year we had lots. I worked from 9:30 - 11:30 am and the mad rush was over by 10:00. Last year it went from 9:30 till 11:00 without a break in our lines.

We have an artificial tree which we put up over Thanksgiving weekend and it will stay up till the week after New Years. It's about 9 feet.

We have an artificial tree - about 6 1/2 feet tall. We put it up the day after Thanksgiving and it will come down probably next weekend.

We have no real tree again this year.
I gave our old one to DS. We did set up one of the little ones, about 4' to use this year since DS went to the ILs.
We hope next year to get a 9' one. We always set up the first weekend in Dec. and take down Dec. 31.

I only went to Old Time Pottery hoping to find large wreathes to replace our large community wreathes. They had none. And not many wreathes period. No large bows either. They did not have much in the way of leftover holiday ornaments. Although I did buy some for next year's wreathes, since the decor they did have was half off.

I have not put up a tree at home in years. I have been known to put up one where I work. But I did not this year. They already had one, and I am just not into decorating trees any more. (Have to decorate the community wreathes, and I guess that is enough for me. ;) )

Oh -- I did buy a Tink big fig yesterday that has fiber optic wings. The way her wings light up reminds me of a tree -- so I think she is my tree from here on. ;)

We have a 7' artificial prelit, I put it up Thanksgiving day and will take it down New Years night.
