Restaurant reviews and recipes...formerly Disney QOTD

I don't drive, so if I'm traveling by myself, I go to Disney and that's it. I love SeaWorld & would go there if I could.

I do want to see the Harry Potter stuff. I may plan a trip to Universal next year just to see it. My sister & her family were there this summer & said it looks like it will be awesome. My 7 yr old niece Dana is a huge HP fan, as is her 9 yr old cousin. I would love to take the 2 of them there, we'd be in HP heaven.

We have gone to Universal/IOA, ten years ago. Since then, it's been strictly WDW.

We got to USF/IOA about once every 5-6 years. For 2 days. We will check out the Harry Potter stuff.
Last trip for me was Jan. 2007 with my BFF on our birthday trip. We will go in Jan. 2012 for our next birthday trip too.
We never rent a car...so we take a shuttle.

We have been to Sea World in FL twice.
Busch Gardens twice
And Kennedy Space Center once (we did rent a car for this one).

Over 100+ trips & there has only been 2xs we have left "The World". I have no plans of going to Universal but I have a niece who is working it every time she she's me:)

We had a big wind storm during the night and lost power :( Hate when that happens.

QOTD.....11-17

When you make a trip to FL for Disney, do you venture outside the "World" and visit other attractions? USF? SeaWorld?

With the coming of the Harry Potter part to USF, will you go pay a visit to check it out?

When I travel with my sister we usually just stay on Disney property since we don't rent a car. When I'm with my DH we rent a car and will travel to other locations in Orlando. Did Seaworld on our last trip to Orlando and would like to try USF but don't know when.

Haven't been to Sea World or Universal in a long time, but with the new Harry Potter attraction opening, we might venture over there the next time we visit WDW.

Maybe in Dec. 2011 ;)

Seen as our trips are usually 2 weeks long we do venture off site. We have been to Universal, Discovery Cove, Busch Gardens and Kennedy Space Centre x 2. We also have a shopping day to hit the malls, usually the Orlando premium outlets and Mall at the Millenia. Next trip we are planning on staying at Universal for 2 nights before going to WDW to see the Harry Potter land and to ride the coasters with the hotels front of the line access. We are also going to go to Sea World too, we have been to the one in San Diego but never got round to the Orlando one. We do hire a car for our trip which helps.

Went to Universal/Island of Adventure twice and Sea World once, have no plans to go back to either.

I think we'll visit the Harry Potter area at Universal sometime, however, if it turns out the family with the DGC go without us, that's OK too. I did like Sea World, I think we've been twice, once was in Ohio, they had one in NE Ohio, but don't any more.

I love to visit the State Parks in Florida, and in December we will go to Blue Springs SP in Orange City and hopefully we'll see some manatees warming up in the wonderful spring they have there. Once we were particularly lucky, there were over 40 present that day, it depends on just how cold the water in the river has been and what time of day. There's nothing to eat in the springs, they have to go to the St. John river for vegetation to eat. About 10 years ago, I swam with the manatees in the Crystal River. There are now problems with manatees being harrassed. I know we were kept on a short leash, there were safe zones that we couldn't go into, and we could only touch with 1 hand, not 2. Believe me, they are sooooo huge, I was very happy just to look and wonder.

When 2011's meet rolls around,I would go off site for a day if that's the plan!

We use to be AP-ers at USO/IoA for 2 - 3 years. But we really did not go that often -- except during Halloween Horror Nights (Frequent Fear Pass and arrive early at the park). And 1 - 2 days over the holidays. We have been Macy balloon handler helpers a few times.
But we have not been to USO now for probably nearly 2 years. Just not enough to entice us to buy APs anymore.
I am sure we will go to Harry Potterland at least once. But we have only seen one movie, and I think that was the first one. (To me the HP and Lord of the Rings movies were so similar I couldn't recall one from another after awhile. ;) )
Have gone to Sea World once. Enjoyed it. Just not in a rush to return. That was almost two years ago.
Have been to Busch Gardens a few times. Once was last year for their Howl O Scream. (Which we actually liked better than HHN.)
If I recall BG/SW have odd passes. Seems like they are by calendar year, and not a year from when you join. I would be more apt to become a AP-er if their membership was good for a year from when you first buy or use it.
Last we went to BG was early December '08 and really enjoyed their ice skating show. It was worth the trip over there for that alone.

Maybe in Dec. 2011 ;)

Maybe, DH and I will be staying a week, so I'm sure we can fit a day in at USF. I also told him that he can do some work in the hotel room, that way he doesn't have to take the whole week off of work. So I might be doing some of the activities with the group and leaving DH in the room working.

That works.
My DH always takes his computer (well since DVC) and does some work.
We will be staying about 10 days, I would guess.

Sure, we've traveled off-site. Done US & IOA and Sea World, but I don't go to WDW to see those parks, if you know what I mean. ;) Definately need older kids to do IOA, imho, and DS really wanted to do THEIR Halloween Scare Night (whatever it's called), but we were in WDW at our expense, and he stayed with us.

Oh, and yes, I think I Might want to visit the HP park - once! I mean, how great can it be????

QOTD...11-18

Do you fly to Disney (answer for any of the parks)?
Or drive?

If you fly, where do you like to sit in the plane? Aisle, window?

Fly. :)

I let the kids have the windows. I get dizzy (prob not the word I'm looking for) if I look out.

We. of course fly to WDW.
We have done both to DL.....always drove when the kids were small, stopping to visit relatives and always stayed long and did other things in the ares.
Now we also fly to DL.
When we move to AZ, we will drive to DL.

I prefer aisle.......unless it is first class and then it doesn't matter ;)

My husband and I fly to Disney. We have an affinity for the exit row if we can snag it (we fly southwest so it's luck of the draw when we get on if it's still available).

Beyond that we usually take window seats because we aren't ones to get up during a flight and that way we can lean against it and don't have to be crawled over :)
