Are you a member of D23? have you thought about it? Will you?
If you are, what do you like about it?

Ya know....I don't even know what it is!!:guilty:

I've seen the signs in the Disney store but there was never enough info to tell me exactly what it is!!!

What is D23?

D23 is "The Official Community for Disney Fans" — the first of its kind in the Company's 85-year history. From our enchanting theme parks to our legendary animation studio, Disney is known for having a deep-rooted respect for the wonderful legacy we've built through the years and the creativity that continues to take us to new heights. But one of the most important parts of that fantastic legacy is our fans. To thank all of our fans, we have created D23 with its one-of-a-kind experiences, special events, collectibles, quarterly publication, Web site, and opportunities to meet others who share the same affection and fascination for Disney. D23 offers fans an insider peek at every corner of Disney, from the Parks, animation and stage shows to television and film to the treasures of the legendary Walt Disney Archives.

What does D23 mean?

"D" stands for Disney, and "23" represents 1923, the year that Walt Disney arrived in California and founded what was to ultimately become The Walt Disney Company.

Basically it is a way for Disney fans to spend more money :rotfl:

OH!!!! I get it! Thanks for the explanation!!
Maybe someday when I get some "x-tra" money!! :goodvibes

The magazine is incredible.....and it has a $15 price tag on it anyway. 4 a year.
We also have gotten a pin, a patch, a litho....so they seem to throw little things in with it.
We have gotten 2 from the subscription and bought another. I need to get the premier issue still.
So far we are liking it.

Sounds like it would make a good birthday present - I'll have to throw some hints to DH;)

I don't think I'd spend $15 for a magazine, let alone $75/year for all 4. Just me tho, I'm not in to Pins, maybe that's why?
Whatever happened to the Disney Magazine? Is that the Family Fun magazine I get now? :confused3

The pins and other merchandize are pretty pricy. I think I only bought 2 of them.
The magazines are well worth the price. They are like books. Incredible art and the stories are soooo good and informative.
But it did take us about 6 months to decide to try it.

I'd like to do the behind the scenes Holiday tour. I LOVE Christmas and especially at Disney!!:santa:

Also DH would really like him and I to do the scuba diving at the Living Seas. I told him I don't want the general public to see me in a wet suit!!! Maybe when I lose 30 pounds!!:rotfl2:

See, I'm not into pins either. Must be another reason I didn't do it.

The Disney magazine stopped publishing after the 50th Anniversary of DL. I remember that the 50th Anniversary issue was the last. They replaced subscriptions with Family Fun, but since I wasn't crazy about that magazine, I just got a refund.

What I really miss is the Magic Kingdom Club. Remember that? For $40, you got tons of discounts--on tickets, meals, in the Disney store & in the Disney catalog. That was awesome.

pins are something extra you buy, not part of the subscription, same with the clothes and all the other extra things.
It isn't for everyone, but we are enjoying the magazine so much, I would pay just for that.

I would also like to do the Yuletide Fantasy tour....plan in it in Dec. 2011 ;)

There are lots of restaurants I want to try, and other resorts I'd like to stay at. The list is too long!

I would also like to go on the viewing cruises.......fireworks and Illuminations!

What restuarants do you want to try Missy?

The 3 things I still want to do we are doing on our next trip. A Wishes cruise, the off road segway tour and dinner at Victoria and Alberts.

My DSis gave me a membership. I enjoy reading the magazines. This new one that tells about the Holiday Celebrations at all of the Disney Parks is wonderful. Can't wait to see the Princess and the Frog. DFDiL is from Louisiana and I love just about everything about that area now that I'm learning more and more about it.

I don't think I have any pins or anything extra from the "club." I'm not into collecting per se.

What we're doing in January that we've not done before anywhere, is taking care of the DGC overnight without their parents! We'll be at BLT, and surely hope the DGC don't decide to walk to MK all by themselves!!!:goodvibes

The one thing I would like DH and I to do at WDW that we've never done before is to take a carriage ride, first from VWL or FW and secondly from Port Orleans, Riverside or French Quarter.

Bobbi:goodvibes

I would like to try the rollercoaster in Animal Kingdom Park (can't remember name), we don't usually do AK so haven't tried this ride yet. Also I can't wait to do WDW during the Christmas season and do all the Christmas events.

When you make a trip to FL for Disney, do you venture outside the "World" and visit other attractions? USF? SeaWorld?

With the coming of the Harry Potter part to USF, will you go pay a visit to check it out?
