Restaurant recommendations to see other resorts

Hi - I'm relatively new to staying onsite - stayed at POP last Sept for the free dining and will be staying at ASMo with free dining this Sept. At the time of the trip my kids will be 4 and almost 3. I'm trying to fill one last TS meal credit and am coming up short. So, I'm considering choosing one to get a good look at one of the other resorts, since I haven't seen any other than where I've stayed and the Contemporary. With the kids so young we're staying at Values - but would like to look around at any amenities or fun things that the other resorts have to offer to help us decide for future stays.

I think I've read that AKL has animals - can you see them if you're just there for dinner? I've thought about Boma.

What about one of the places on the Boardwalk? Any fun things to keep young kids interested if we go walk around for awhile before dinner?

Anywhere else with fun things to see?

Thanks for any suggestions!

As far as other resorts go, the AKL would be fascinating for a 3 and 4 year old. There are several very comfortable viewing areas to watch the animals. While I'm not one of them, lots of people like Boma.

The Boardwalk area doesn't really have much to appeal to younger children--its more of a teen and adult focused area.

You might consider OHanas at the Poly. The restaurant has activities, such as coconut races, for kids, and the lobby area at the Poly is beautiful. Also you might consider 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian. It's a character meal, which the kids would probably enjoy, and the GF is an awesome resort to visit.

Oh that's easy. We always eat at a variety of deluxe resorts. The best part of em is the restaurants and common areas. You really can't go wrong with any of the following.

Ohana. Polynesian. Fun coconut races, good food.
Boma. AKL. There's a deck to go view the savannah.
Chef Mickey's contemporary. Character meal fun and the concourse with the monorail through it is really nice.
1900. Grand Floridian. Character meal fun and the GF is really nice too.
Whispering Canyon and Wilderness lodge. BBQ with fun smart alek waiters and a really great view.

Visiting the different resorts was one of our favorite things.

Dining there is even better. :)

I think Boma is a good choice and the AKL is absolutely beautiful. You can look around as much as you'd like, and there are many observation areas. The food is very good and the kids area has mac and chees, spaghetti, fries, for desserts cookies. You'll love AKL and so will your kiddos!!! :goodvibes

With the ages of your kids I would definitely say go to the Grand Floridian. The 1900 Park Fare breakfast was great and the character interaction was very good. Haven't tried the dinner yet...will be doing that one on our next trip.

My kids were 1, 4, and 6 when we went last, and they LOVED Whispering Canyon. We ate there twice (we were staying at WL so that was easy), but on our upcoming trip this July, even though we're not staying at WL, we've made ADRs so we can eat there again.

They would probably like the WL with the geyser too.
