Hello!

My wife and are making our first trip to DL this September. We have 3 day park hopper tickets and one off day built into our trip. We won't have a car and are staying at The Anaheim Hotel. We don't mind paying to Uber/Lyft around and are looking for the best restaurants that any of you have been to and can recommend for our off day.

Also, any recommendations for best Downtown Disney restaurants as well? We can't wait to go and love any kind of food, so just any suggestions are appreciated!

Off property, I'd recommend the Anaheim Packing District as a "glorified food court." Mostly 'unique' options like Anti-Gravity Noodles at 206 BCE. We enjoyed our visit and hope to return! (FWIW, we used the ART bus from the DLR area to/from the Anaheim Packing District and surrounds. Made for a nice touring day.)

List of merchants, so as to avoid the chatty home page: https://www.anaheimpackingdistrict.com/merchants

This is perfect, will definitely look into it and thanks for the info about the bus as well!

We enjoyed the Anaheim Packing District as well, but do check their hours the night we went many locations were closing up or already closed. Still found some great options and nice to have variety. We had a great evening at Ruth's Chris near the Convention Center. We also had a great meal and experience at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. I will add we did not enjoy our meal and experience at Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beer.

Third Anaheim picking district. Some great breweries near by as well. We loved the kroft. Super yummy poutine!!!

We are going to DL in late August so I've been doing research for non DL restaurants for our last day since we are going to venture out a bit. Saw this on a food network show and it has some really high reviews across the board. We're going to check it out. Inexpensive and off the beaten path, but still pretty close to DL. If you want good Mexican, might be a good option.

Mimi’s is on Harbor, walking distance from your hotel. We ate there twice last trip. People on DIS have raved about it for years and I finally tried it this time.

we enjoyed the omelettes, French onion soup, creme brûlée, and full bar. ;). Service was ok but they were clearly understaffed post covid- like most restaurants.

Fourth the Anaheim Packing District. Something for everyone.

My favorite is the choose your own gelato bar then choose your dip(s) then choose your topping(s) shop for dessert!

Would also highly recommend Don Churros Gomez if you like churros. It’s a food truck and holy moly, it was incredible!!! Be prepared for a long line. But it’s worth it! 😉

Do you want everyday food, or a special experience? If you're looking for something special, The Hobbit in Orange is spectacular, as is the Anaheim White House.

Another special experience recommendation is about ten minutes from Disneyland. "The Ranch Restaurant & Saloon" was a wonderful surprise! Don't let "Saloon" fool you; it's on the dressier side. When we went there, there were no Bermuda shorts or Mickey ears in sight. Excellent steak/seafood and a really wonderful farm-to-table menu with locally grown produce. We're about 45 minutes away or we'd have been back already!

If shopping is on the agenda down at South Coast Plaza for that off day, I can highly recommend Quattro Cafe in the mall. Freshly made pasta in a friendly family owned restaurant. Quite a unique find in a Mall.

Love The Ranch. I would recommend as well. At Downtown Fullerton, The Cellar is great too and I especially love their souffle (dessert first), lobster bisque, duck, filet, ribeye, venison, etc.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions, I can't wait to look into each one! The special experience recommendations have peaked my interest as well, and it sounds like the packing district is a must do!

I just found The Cellar today and booked it for a birthday dinner since Napa Rose Chef counter won't be back yet.
I am definitely going to have to check out The Hobbit in the future..that looks amazing !

The Hobbit does sound amazing. I haven't made it there yet and probably won't until the fall. But if you go, I would love to hear about it!!
