We're planning my 7 year old's first visit to WDW and my ADR window opens in less than a month! I could use some help! DH and I have been before, though it was 2003 and we can't really remember much of where we ate or things we liked. So we're basically starting from scratch. :) My daughter is a big eater - though she is oddly picky. She does not eat typical "kid" foods - no chicken nuggets, burgers, or hot dogs. She is fairly adventurous outside of that - she loves fish and has never met a noodle she doesn't like. :) She's also not a princess girl - so we're not looking at any of the meals with princesses - and noise sensitive - so we're trying to steer clear of really loud/hectic places (no Chef Mickey's!). I would like to do a mix of TS & QS meals. We'll have 2 days in Epcot & MK and 1 day in AK & HS. All I've got so far is Tusker House & BOG (not sure lunch or dinner) so I clearly need some help! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

My boys are about to turn 8 and are really looking forward to going back to
BOG,
Rainforest Cafe (although quite noisy for the 'storm', but I have a noise sensitive guy and he just covers his ears for the minute it takes to be over),
Beaches & Cream (but they've requested not to have the Kitchen Sink again because we all overindulged and felt rough after :crazy2:)

They've also asked to go for sushi in Japan and to the San Angel Inn (they aren't 'kids meal' kids either) but I don't know how loud it is in there. They enjoy Raglan Road too

If she likes fish, check out Coral Reef in Epcot. Sci-Fi Diner in HS is a fun atmosphere. Ohana is delicious and is nearby MK at the Poly, so it would be a nice afternoon break on a MK day, or a fun breakfast to start a MK day (Lilo and Stitch, Mickey and Pluto). This one isn't nearly as noisy as some of the other character meals.

Have fun!

In EP, consider Tokyo Dining or Spice Road Table. The atmosphere in both is lovely and the food is on the more adventurous side. My DS8 is also an adventurous eater adn enjoyed both. For QS, we really like Les Halles in France and Marrakesh in Morocco.

AK - We love Tusker and I see you already have that!

MK - BOG lunch is good. The food in MK is not very adventurous. Skipper Canteen is kind of adventurous but the food isn't very good IMHO. There is better food to be had outside of MK at the MK resorts. Consider O'hana at Poly for dinner. The Wave also has a good, more adventurous menu.

DHS - Not a lot of adventurous food here. Our favorite restaurant in DHS is Hollywood Brown Derby. If you are willing to leave the park, there is some good food in the EP resort area - we like bluezoo and Trattoria al Forno. Also Kimono's if you like sushi.

Sci-Fi is great in DHS. I also like the Garden Grill in Epcot if you are looking for character meal. Since she likes fish you might look at the Coral Reef in Epcot. For AK, I would go with Tusker House or Yak and Yeti. I would stay away from Rainforest Cafe due to the noise factor. Since she isn't a picky eater, I would say do BOG for dinner in MK.

As for CS in MK, I like CHH and Flame Tree BBQ in AK.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! Are there QS restaurants that would be good choices too? Especially ones that go beyond the typical kid fare?

Is Sci-Fi diner loud? She would probably like the movies, but I worry about the noise level. And the menu at Coral Reef looks amazing...but is it odd to eat fish while you're watching fish? Also good to hear good things about Garden Grill at Epcot - that was on my list as a possibility, especially because it looks like it would be quieter.

EPCOT I would recommend Garden Grill, you sit basically alone if you get a booth, and you see cute characters, food is very good also.

MK you have lots of choices, including Liberty Tree Tavern, good selection for lunch, buffet at dinner, pretty quiet, Columbia House, QS, good healthy selections, they have a salmon dish that is great.

AK For QS we eat at Flametree Barbeque, we also have been to Boma at the AKLodge. Gives you an opportunity to view the resort and possibly see animals, there are other restaurants there too that others love. Boma is always crowded, its a buffet.

HS Very limited choices here especially QS, we used to eat at Pizza Planet, it has closed. We eat at 50's Primetime every time we go.

Sci-Fi can be loud, but you can get a car by yourselves. Kids love this place.

That's the one park I'm a little nervous about. I think that we will only plan on lunch there, since we will need to be long gone before fireworks start. :) I'm hopefully that Pizza Planet will re-open by January, since we're huge Muppets fans around here. I've also been hopeful that maybe they would add a Star Wars character meal, but I have a feeling that's just a pipe dream. :)

Check out allearsnet for the restaurant menus, helps to sort through the options. For MK I like Columbia Harbour House for CS and the Plaza TS for dinner. Also Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch is good. Agree with Garden Grill in Epcot since it is a quieter character meal. I also like Chefs de France. For CS I like the place in Morocco or Yorkshire Fish and Chips. I always get an ice cream in France, they have the creamiest soft serve I found in all the parks. We only eat at Tusker House in AK and then usually leave before we have our next meal so no more suggestions there. DHS pretty much stinks for food but maybe Hollywood Brown Derby would be a good option. I also like Starring Rolls there but it has very limited hours and selection.

You can always hop over to Beach Club/Yacht Club/Boardwalk for a meal, too, just in case PP isn't open by then. There's boats outside of HS or you can walk (a little over a mile). I haven't eaten at any of them, but someone else suggested Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club.
I also recommend Tokyo Dining if you want somewhere quiet.
As for QS, AK has Yak and Yeti, which I like. The kid's meals are pretty standard chicken/pb&j but a side of chicken fried rice was enough for me last time I was there. Epcot's World Showcase might have some QS kid's options. Looking through allears.net's menus there's Yorkshire Fish and Chips and Liberty Inn has kid's pasta and kid's fried shrimp.
Definitely recommend looking at allears. I'm a picky eater (can't handle certain textures) so if we are looking at going somewhere new I always check there.

We have a 7 year old boy. He always requests teppen edo and the Mexican pavilion restaurant (sorry the name escapes me). He's a big eeyore fan and usually wants to do crystal palace. Trex is a favorite as is ohana.

I don't know how accurate this is, but it says it is suppose to open in November, here are two different articles

I am with you on the Star Wars "Dream", my daughters 17 and 22 would be first in line. We are spending 2 days in HS to make sure they get their SW fix.

I agree with others, you should look at a few places, and their menus and reviews. We are going to Ohana our last night. I have cancelled our last 2 ADRS on previous trips in lieu of another place...but have to experience it at least once. We may not be together as a family like this again. :(
