Restaurant Questions

New to Universal. Planning our first trip in Jan. Four nights over mlk weekend, staying at rhp. Wondering what is the process for advanced meal reservations and how late/early can you make a reservation for an in the park restaurant? For example, if the park closes at 6pm, what is the latest time we could sit down for dinner? Thanks

I wouldn't bother with in park restaurants for dinner. There are plenty of restaurants in Citywalk (which is right outside the gates of the parks) and use your in park time riding the rides. There are also excellent restaurants at the hotels to use after the parks close as well. Parks close early in the winter.

I'd do Mythos or Confisco's for lunch instead since they will close about 2 hours before the park does.

the only time i found it beneficial to make a reservation for city walk was for a saturday night.


and then, i only made it a week out.


op, do the evening meal at CW or one of the hotel restaurants.
parks close earlier so spend your time enjoying them during the day.

Ressies really aren't necessary at Universal. If you wish to make some you can at opentable.com. but how far out varies by restaurant( universal doesn't own or operate many of them). In park eateries like Mythos close well before the parks do. It is not unusual to see the latest seating as 330-4pm in Jan,. FWIW we are going to be down from the 18th-25th and didn't make any ressies at all
