Am in the process of booking a 2 week solo trip to Walt Disney World and am putting together a list of places I want to make ADR's at. Am planning on doing the DxDDP. Have dined at some of these places, but not all, so I'm looking for reviews/opinions (good & bad).

Am on the fence with these:

Les Chefs de France (never been)
Raglan Road (never been)
Mama Melrose (never been)
Tokyo Dining (never been)
Garden Grill (have not been in very long time)
Akershus
Tony's (have not been in very long time)
Sci Fi
Narcoossee's (never been)

Here are my opinions for a few of the ones that you are on the fence about:

Raglan Road: I like it, but it doesn't have the Disney feel to it. It is supposed to resemble of a traditional Irish pub. The food is pretty good, and they have live music and Irish dancers in the evening. If you're going to be in DTD, it is a great place to try.

Tony's: The worst food we've had at WDW. :headache:

Sci-fi: neat environment, but the food wasn't good except for the desserts. The kids liked sitting in the car, but other than that it was forgettable.

Sci Fi :thumbsup2perfect for the burger/shake route. The experience is pure Disney and you'll be so happy you did! Mama's: food wonderful, especially the fire grilled flatbreads, but it's a wait even with an ADR. yak&yeki: we have been pleasantly surprised both times we ate there as an early lunch. Artist Point (and WL experience) truly wonderful. My fave lodge setting especially at Christmas:love:Ohana's: we LOVE LOVE LOVE the food here. Plaza: a true hidden gem at Disney! Ice cream drinks and the reuben. say no more :woohoo:

I have not heard the best of reviews for both Tony's & Sci Fi. Have not dined at Tony's in many, many years. Dined at Sci Fi on my last trip. The main meal was awful and inedible. The shake was good and the environment is kitchy, but just wished the food was better.

I agree with everything above. Tony's is definitely the worst meal at disney i have ever ever had. Its awful. I will never eat there again. Gross!
Raglan Road has yummy food and terrific entertainment. Sci Fi has an awesome atmosphere. The burgers are good, so are the shakes. I'd do lunch but not dinner. then you wont be too disappointed.

Akershus
Tony's (have not been in very long time) - AWFUL AWFUL FOOD!!!!!!!
Sci Fi - decent burgers, terrific atmosphere.
Narcoossee's (never been)

Brown Derby Dinner - I wouldn't do it on the dining plan. I would OOP for just Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake. That's the only things we enjoyed while we were there.
California Grill Dinner - We loved the California Grill. The sushi was great. Again, I might OOP this one so I could get several different Sushi Rolls and not have to get an entree.
Crystal Palace Breakfast - We love Pooh Ears. The character interaction is good. The food is great. Getting into the park early, even better.
Hoop Dee Doo Dinner - We laughed so hard, my nephew actually fell out of his chair. The food is okay, it's more for the show than anything else.
Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch - Yum! We enjoyed this. We had to order extra Tavern Cheese my son loved it so much. Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake.
O'Hana's Dinner -It was okay. I spent most of the time peeling shrimp for the kiddos. If it weren't for the Lapu Lapu, I probably wouldn't have to go back.
O'Hana's Breakfast - It's okay, not my favorite of the breakfast choices.
Rose & Crown Dinner - Would not go back. The view for Illuminations was great, but the food was ick. Very bland. Luckily after two Leaping Leprechauns I stopped tasting it anyway.
Via Napoli Lunch - My son's absolute favorite. Had to order a 2nd pizza b/c he ate the whole first one before I got much of any.

These are the only ones I can comment on. Many of your new ones will be my new ones next trip.

We love Raglan Road, the restaurant is beautiful, the servers are friendly and the food is great. It is lively in the evening with the live band (except Sunday night) and the Irish Step Dancers. We did Tokoyo Dining last trip. I ordered the chicken tempura and it was a huge meal, It came with Miso soup and a cucumber salad and others that I didn't expect and don't remember. I did not enjoy it. It was just too much fried food for me. The setting was lovely and the services was outstanding. The issue really was what I ordered.
We love 50's PTC, Hoop Dee Doo Review, Via Napoli, and Rose & Crown
Enjoy

Narcoossee's (never been)

Hope that helps! When we went three years ago I had a great meal at the Wave. Awesome fish.

Here are my thoughts on the ones you're "on the fence" about:

If you go to Raglan Road, make sure you go on a night they have the Step Dancers. I have seen a schedule and if it's accurate, it looks like they don't perform on Sunday nights. Also, I have heard raves and raves about the chowder, but I have tried it twice and found it awful both times. Please stick with something simple like a burger or their shepherd's pie. Bread pudding dessert is delicious. My family loves the atmosphere and insists on going back. The fried scallop forest appetizer was delicious!

We love Les Chefs for food and atmosphere, and we have done both lunch and dinner. I love their steak au poivre, their onion soup, mac and cheese and profiteroles. The profiteroles look very plain, but the chocolate sauce is absolutely amazing and those things have a very unexpectedly complex texture with the shavings of white chocolate that kind of crunch in your mouth...very exciting!

I can't comment on the others because we either haven't been ever or not for a very long time. Sci fi is someplace I would never go with a party of 4 because of the isolating seating arrangement, but on a solo trip, I might actually give it a try.

We are going to Mama Melrose and Tony's for lunch in August. We've always been on the fence about trying them, but since we will have DxDDP and therefore sit-down lunches for the first time, we figure what the heck! I will report back upon returning, but I don't know if that will be too late to help you.

The rest of your line-up looks amazing. WOW, 2 weeks! That is very lucky!

I was just at WDW 2 weeks ago, so I am excited to give you very recent reviews!

Kona Cafe breakfast--DO THIS! great atmosphere, very relaxing, plus you get a lot of great food for not a ton of money. The Tonga toast is amazing and the coffee is great.

Yak & Yeti lunch--had never done this before either, but I had their signature soy salmon entree and it was very good...although a LOT for lunch. The salmon was cooked amazingly perfect and the bok choy and mushrooms on the side were really flavorful and not too heavy. I skipped most of the rice.

If you don't mind another suggestion that is not listed on your to-do: Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room/Grand Floridian. When I was there with mom, there were lots of people dining alone. It is a great way to spend some time in the afternoon and relax with a great view. The food is delicious (like tea sandwiches, scone with devonshire cream, pastries, and trifle).

Enjoy!

Of the places I have visited:

Cinderella's Castle Dinner
We went in 2009, before the princesses were at dinner. I believe the menu has changed since then as well. The food was decent but nothing special (I've heard most people say the same of the new menu); mostly you are paying for the experience of eating in the castle. Glad we did it once, but we aren't fans of character meals and probably won't go back as long as the princesses are at every meal.

Le Cellier Lunch
Le Cellier is our favorite Disney restaurant (of those we've tried so far), and we really enjoy the smaller portions and cheaper prices at lunch. Our favorites are the chicken chipotle sausage app, the tomato stack app, the filet, and the chocolate "moose".

Yachtsman Steakhouse Dinner
The worst service we've ever experienced at a Disney restaurant was at Yachtsman. We were there for our anniversary dinner, but even though they knew (and gave us personalized menus mentioning it), we were horribly rushed by the staff and they presented us with the check shortly after the entrees arrived, with no inquiry about dessert. We also weren't thrilled with our steaks - honestly, every other Disney steak we've had (Jiko, Le Cellier, even Tony's) has tasted better to us. Their onion rolls were amazing, but overall, we were disappointed in the quality of what is supposed to be a signature restaurant.

Les Chefs de France
We have been for lunch, and were seated in the little windowed atrium area by the fountain leading back to Boulangerie Patisserie. It's a very pretty view there, very relaxing. We got the prix fixe menu. Their onion soup is great, and we liked the profiteroles, but weren't thrilled with our entrees. The croque monsieur was made on slices of super-thick-sliced bread, toasted within an inch of its life, so it was very hard to eat (too big and too dry to easily take a bite of). The quiche was heavy on the nutmeg. But service was decent, and I'd be willing to give Les Chefs another shot with different entree choices.

Raglan Road
If you go for dinner, when they have entertainment, it is SO LOUD. Like, not really possible to have a conversation with the folks at your table sort of loud. Also, at a certain point during the night, they stop serving their full dinner menu and only serve a shortened "pub menu", though both the Disney reservation site and OpenTable make no mention of this and just list "dinner" as going to 11pm. We made a reservation for dinner after Le Cirque, but ended up not staying because of the noise level and the shortened menu, and went to Planet Hollywood instead.

Tony's
This place gets a bad rap on the DIS, and I agree that their marinara sauce is terrible, which is kind of sad for an Italian restaurant. But we had a pretty enjoyable dinner here. We were seated in the windowed area that faced Main Street, and watched the night parade (then Spectro) as we ate. We liked the cheese garlic bread, which comes topped with fresh tomatoes and basil. I didn't like the chicken parm I ordered (came topped with the above icky marinara), but DH ordered a steak that was surprisingly really good! It was served with string beans that were also very tasty.

50's Primetime Lunch: never been there
Artist Point Dinner: Loved it! We had an early reservation (right at restaurant opening) and it was very quiet.
Brown Derby Dinner: My family likes it alot, It's the best food at DHS for sure, but not a must do for us
California Grill Dinner: A new must do for us after celebrating our anniversary there in December, the view is great and the fireworks are a nice end to dinner
Captain's Grille Dinner: never been there
Cinderella's Castle Dinner : never been there
Citricos Dinner: Ate there a couple years ago, we enjoyed it but haven't made it back since
Crystal Palace Breakfast: Very entertaining, love the "pooh-rade" also helps that Winnie the Pooh is my favorite!
Flying Fish Dinner: I got food poisoning there once, haven't gone back, I remember really enjoying my meal though
Hoop Dee Doo Dinner: never been
Kona Café Breakfast: never been
Le Cellier Lunch: Our other must do, love the cheese soup and steak! We usually do lunch and then don't book anything for dinner that day cuz we know we won't be hungry!
Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch: never been
O'Hana's Dinner: never been
O'Hana's Breakfast: never been
Rose & Crown Dinner: never been
Sanaa Dinner: Delicious, we stayed part of our last visit at Kidani and had dinner at Sanaa. It was one of our favorite meals of the trip. Love the variety and the view of the animals

Via Napoli Lunch: Never been- but are trying in March!
Whispering Canyon Lunch: Never been
Yachtsman Steakhouse Dinner: Never been but trying in March!

Am on the fence with these:

Les Chefs de France: Ate there in December for the CP dinner package. It was "eh." It was not bad, but not great either. We got a ton of food with the package and Remi was fun to see. We won't be going back for awhile however.
Raglan Road: never been
Mama Melrose: Used to be our go-to 1 TS at DHS, now we tend to just head to EPCOT for our DHS days. It's good, not great.
Tokyo Dining: never been
Garden Grill: never been
Akershus: never been
Tony's: reviews around here have scared me from ever trying it
Sci Fi: never been
Narcoossee's: Ate there in December. We really enjoyed it, we all got various seafood dishes.

Just got back today, and had lunch at Les Chefs de France yesterday - I had the 3 course prix fixe lunch and really enjoyed it (including the Croque Monsieur). Whoever mentioned the profiteroles above - Oh my gosh, they were so good! I was stuffed from lunch but ate way more of them than I should have. I have a picture I'm going to post eventually and yes, they are as yummy as they look!

I had dinner at Flying Fish on Tuesday night, and was lucky enough to be there when they had their "special" for Valentine's Day - my server said it was going to become a regular choice on the menu: It's sort of a Flying Fish "greatest hits" - I believe it was like $63 per person (don't quote me on that), but you get a first course of Caesar salad and a crab cake (YUM to the Crab Cake, mm mm mm), and your entree is like half-size portions of the Potato Wrapped Red Snapper and the Char-Crusted Strip Steak - both very good. Then you get the Banana Napoleon for dessert. I enjoyed it all, but man it was too much food! I think FF is definitely worth a trip.

Had dinner at Via Napoli and liked the Margherita pizza, and LOVED the Tiramisu. It was a close call between that and the Profiteroles for best dessert.

Oh, and let me add, I was solo, and had wonderful servers in all 3 places and was very comfortable dining alone.
