Restaurant numbers

If we book a table at a restaurant on line for 7 people but can only be certain that there will be definitely 5 ,will we be charged if the 2 extra people can't make it?

As long as someone shows up you're fine. We've had diners on our reservation that couldn't make it at the last minute.

We have never been charged for no shows. We have several times where friends got sick or were just too tired. Although if I know in advance I call to change the amount so it frees up a reservation for other guests.
