Tomorrow is my day to make ADR's...I DESPISE having to make ADR's. I want to try Restaurant Marrakesh sometime but do I need ressies for it or can we "walk in"?? I'd prefer not to have to tie myself to a ressie date / time if I don't have to - ADR's take all the fun out of being spontaneous with our plans. (Also not sure if we'd want to go for lunch or for dinner.) When I looked it up here on the DIS it said "Reservations Not Required" unlike with San Angel Inn which says "Reservations Suggested".

Experience anyone?!?!:confused3 Should I make ADR's for Restaurant Marrakesh or can we "walk up" without too much of a hassle??:confused3

TIA!!

Why not do this.... actually I really hate to be tied down to a specific time and day myself....I make some reservations when I get there and take the time and day that is available if that is the park I will be in. I have heard that people can walk up and get into this restaurant.. but it will depend on the crowds when you are going.

Free dining starts the day we go this time.:headache: It usually starts later in the month, after we leave, so I'm concerned about my "competition" for ADR's this time around...

Marrakesh is a great resaurant and very overlooked, I have never been in and seen it busy. I would say you would be fine to just walk up for this place but obviously it's always going to be a small risk in case they are busy.

I understand not wanting to be tied down to an ADR. But it is your personal choice - The question really is how badly do you want to eat at Restaurant Marakesh? My rule of thumb is: If there is somewhere you really want to eat than make an ADR. If you are content with the possibility that you will be turned away and denied the pleasure (we love Marakesh), than don't make an ADR.
I do think that Free Dining will make getting in more difficult, but Restaurant Marakesh is not one of the most popular choices in WS
Good Luck.

Bump! Anybody else have any walk-up experience?? :goodvibes

Marrakesh is not that hard to walk up to.Even in Free dining. But if you know you really want to do it,and will be disappointed, make an adr.You can always cancel, change, or try a walk up on a different day:confused3

Does anyone know best time to see the belly dancer? Usually when they are there? Thanks.

I think it's top of the hour. I feel like she was just finishing up when I walked in at 715ish.

There always seemed to be availibility when I was there, but I think you should make an ADR if you want to eat at specific time as they do get busy.

I've done a walk-up for lunch opening. Also better prices OOP at lunch as a number of entrees are nearly identical to the more $ dinner entrees. However, you may have difficulties seeing the belly dancer/catching the entertainment at that time. I think this starts closer to 1pm-1:30pm. ps your biggest problem at F&W may be the Eat to the Beat Dining pkg. Marrakesh is an included restaurant.
