Restaurant Marrakesh?

We ate there and I would not eat there again. I love middle Eastern food and thought this was very bland. I had been dying to eat here and finally got DH to agree, I was very disappointed.

I have not eaten at Marrakesh, but we did eat at Tangerine (I think that's the name of the Morroco counter service). We were there just a little over a week ago.

I remember commenting to my husband that I could not imagine the food or ambiance at the table service being better then what we experienced at Tangerine.

We both got the Shawarma platter with chicken and lamb and sat at a table outside. It was evening and the stage for the band Mo'rockin is right across the main walkway. We did not have unobstructed views because a crowd gathers around the band stage, but we did have some view and could hear the music perfectly. We also could catch glimpses of the belly dancer on stage with them.

The food was superb, the entertainment was great and the price could not be beat, $33.

DW and I have been to Marakesh several times. WE will definitely return. We find the food, service, and ambience to be perfect!

We have never tried the counter service, but after reading chris7's report, we will have to check that out!

We reluctantly tried it in '05 because we could not get a table seating anywhere else that night (these were the days before my FIL would agree to make reservations).

We were very nervous, but it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. There were 5 adults and two children, and all of us really enjoyed the meal. The service was great, the atmosphere and decor is great too.

I know my FIL and DH ordered that feast thing. I believe I got the lemon chicken, which was delicious. MIL ordered the chicken kebabs, also delish and DH's aunt ordered the lamb, which she loved.

We were worried it might be spicy or wierd, but it wasn't.

I believe we'll try it again when we go in December.

We ate there on our last trip. Have been several times before. We probably enjoy the counter service as much or more. We were disappointed when they brought the bill. We have the DDE card and they refused to apply the 20% discount to one of the entrees. They said that it was a "special" so was already a discounted price. Never had that happen in all of the restaurants on property. We will probably just hit the counter service and enjoy the view.:)

Does anyone know if the "feasts" are covered on the basic dining plan?
I see a few combination items on the dinner menu and was just wondering if they are on the DDP.

We're a group of 4 ladies trying to decide where to eat for our Epcot day. It's between Marrakesh, Le Cellier and Biergarten. We wanted to do something a little different, but the filet at Le Cellier is sooo good it can't be excluded from our choice.
Glad to hear good things about Restaurant Marrakesh.
