Restaurant Marrakesh Question

If anyone has eaten at Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco can you tell me about the Taste of Morocco dinners, on the menu on allearsnet there is the Marrakesh Feast and the Royal Feast, are these all you can eat? Would your recoment getting one of these? If not what would you recomend? We have the MYW dining plan. Also what are the best deserts? Thanks.

No, they aren't all you can eat, but the portions are enormous. I do recommend getting one, they give a good sampling of what's available - especially because both have the lemon chicken, my favorite . Plus, the baklava ("moroccan pastries") are very very good.

We ate at Marrakesh about a week and a half ago. We were at Epcot and just planning to do Morocco counter service, but when we got there I decided to just try and see how long the wait was. We did not have a PS, but the hostess said there was no wait. So in we went!

The atmosphere is beautiful, tiled walls and arches. The light is a little dim but it's not dark. We started off with the Combination appetizer plate which includes beef brewat rolls, chicken bastilla and jasmina salad. I really liked the beef brewat rolls and the jasmina salad. For our entress I ordered the lemon chicken, as did my BIL. DH ordered Night in Casablanca which includes Roast Lamb Meshoui, Chicken Kebab, and Seafood Bastilla. I sampled the seafood bastilla and thought it tasted too fishy, but everything else was good. I really really loved my lemon chicken. It was tender, and the sauce was delicious, especially with the rice. However, BIL did not like the lemon chicken and said his was too dry. And though DH's food was good, he said he probably wouldn't eat there again. I would definitely eat there again!

I think the best part of dinner was the Moroccan musicians who were playing in the middle of the dining room, and later a belly dancer came out. It was fun to watch her, and occasionally she would take someone from their table and have them dance in the middle as well.

Love Marrakesh! We once had the Royal Feast with my parents and DD (who was about 2 or 3 at the time). Loved the Brewat rolls and the Lemon chicken (although on subsequent visits it hasn't been as lemony as that time). The lamb was delicious too and even when I'm full I can make room for some Crepe Atlas (and I'm not usually an apple dessert sort of gal!) The portions are huge! We left a lot and my DH and Ddad are big eaters.

I just spoke to my sister (part of our family trip in Oct) and she said that Marrakesh needs to go on our PS list. Last time I went with her, we took the kids while the hubbies golfed--and her DH was bummed to have missed out. So, we will definitely be back!

As for kids, my DD7 will eat anything and always orders--and devours--the kids vegetable couscous--and usually some of our meat. They also have more American cuisine for the kids--I know a hamburger is one offering.

The entertainment and setting are fabulous and make an enjoyable meal even more special. Give Marrakesh a try. It's one of Epcot's hidden gems!

Can't wait to go again this Nov! No wait for lunch this Feb/Mar '05. Service excellent. They will have a daily special very reasonably priced. The special inc a salad, entree & dessert, don't remember if there was more to it, but DH thought it tasty & filling. I had the lamb shank with couscous-enough couscous to feed a village! The appetizer sampler excellent, as the mint tea & Moroccan coffee.

It's on our PS list!

Yes - I checked before I made our PS for lunchtime. We've never eaten there before but ds (turning 5) wants to see the belly dancers! That explains his fascination with Jasmine.

This is exactly the post I was looking for....We have an AR for 6/9 @ 6pm. We are adventurous eaters and as soon as Marrakesh became available on the dining plan I made an AR. Now I am really excited!

Can't tell you if it's good...but the most recent dinner menu shows:
Jasmina Salad -- an assortment of fresh vegetables served on a bed of lettuce
Vegetable Couscous (listed as an entree)
Crepes Atlas - apple crepes with cinnamon topped with ice cream and almonds
Moroccan Symphony - Assorted pastries
Marrakesh Delight - fresh fruit salad topped with mint ice cream, toasted almonds and orange blossom water
Bastilla - crispy leaves of pastry topped with vanilla cream and sprinkled with toasted almonds

Wonder if you could order 3 desserts as appetizer, entree, and dessert?
