We will need a sit down restaurant in Epcot. The time is flexible, so it could be for a late afternoon lunch or an early dinner. I'm looking at Marrakesh because I think the belly dancing would be great to see...but I'm worried about the menu. Disney website states that it has a "kid-friendly" menu but I'm not seeing anything on the menu that looks all that friendly to a 6yr old.

Have your kids enjoyed this restaurant?

Our 16 month old DD loved it! The belly dancer was lots of fun, and DD got to dance with her. Come to think of it, DH loved the belly dancer, too. ;) We're taking DD3 and DS20 months back there in May.

I was there with my 3 boys when they were 3/6/9 years old and they were
happy with whatever kids choices they had on the menu.

All kids' meals are for guests 3-9

All meals served with Carrots Sticks and Apple Sauce

Choice of 1% Milk, Bottled Water or Apple Juice

I took dd to Marrakesh (age 6 at the time) last January, it was just okay. Belly dancer was great, but we actually had to reschedule when we got to the podium, bc she was not scheduled to dance for another 2 hours. Honestly I thought food at the Tangeriene Cafe was better than Marrakesh. DD really did not eat the food. (she ordered the speghetti dish.) I don't think I rule this place out, but it's not even on my list next trip. Of all the places to try at Epcot, I think I can make a better choice next trip.

Dined here in Oct. 2009. Marrakesh will be on our list for the next trip.
We loved the food! The appetizers, entrees and dessert were all delicious. A little different but not overly authentic/spicy/weird...... The kids food was good too. The pasta was just normal pasta, DS4 had his without meatballs.... and waiter brought french fries and strawberries at DS4's request too even though not on the menu. The service was outstanding.

The music was enjoyable... as was the belly dancer -- who invited children to come on the dance floor and belly dance too! DS4 was not so sure about that! But some other children did. I've even seen some adults enticed to dance on the floor on you tube videos.

You can check the belly dancer schedule by calling restaurant reservations... I'd think it will be fine if you are during normal lunch hours... 12-1 or so. Marrakesh is an example of what I love about dining at Disney -- something different... I can have regular dining at home with just food. I like the Disney restaurants with music, entertainment, characters, shows, etc...

Marrakesh has become my favorite restaurant in Disney, but I didn't like it when I was a kid. Of course that was 15 or so years ago.

We have been taking our children for dinner there for years... they love it.. and if they aren't in the mood for traditional Morrocan food there are chicken nuggets on the kids menu. We are going again in February....
