I'm trying to decide on a restaurant for my 40th birthday in June.
I've narrowed my choices to: Alfredo's, Rose & Crown & Marakesh (sp?). Can I have opinions, good & bad, on my choices? It will be me, DH and 7 yr old niece. Thanks!

We haven't eaten at Alfredo's, but I would choose Marrakesh over Rose & Crown. The food is more interesting and the setting is much more beautiful and exotic. Plus you'll have dinner entertainment. We have found Marrakesh's food to be very good and Rose & Crown's just okay.

I take it you plan to be in EPCOT on your birthday then?

Alfredo's is romantic for dinner and has the singing waiters. The setting is lovely and it would be nice to eat outside on the patio and in the Italian setting. Haven't eaten ere so can't comment on the food but friends, whom I trust, recommend it.

Marakesh - I've eaten here I found the food a little on the dry side but nice all the same. The entertainment here is wonderful and we had a good time.

Rose and Crown - well if you want to plan to watch the Illuminations after dinner then I would suggest eating here. Again I haven't eaten here because I can get all that food at home. I've seen the food and it looks scrummy and obviously I can recommend UK food without a doubt. If it's your birthday you'll more of a chance to get a table on the patio and then you can see the fireworks - it's suppsoed to be one of the best spots in EPCOT to see them from. I think you need to get a PS for 7.30ish and then when you get to the podium say you'll wait for a patio table if one would be available. Also make sure you mention it's your birthday when you make your PS.

I would definitely agree with Sam - if it's your birthday then there is a very good chance that you will get a table at Rose & Crown overlooking the water if you mention it at the podium or when you make your PS. We have tried the Rose & Crown once before and the views of the illuminations are stunning. The servers and food was excellent too.

I haven't tried Marakesh.

Alfredo's is a lovely restaurant. We had the most friendly server here on our last trip. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. It is very relaxing and romantic - although there were a lot of children there too.

Richard. :)
