Well, I don't have a website, but every week our local radio station has "Fifty-Fifty Friday" where you can buy a $50 gift card to a restaurant for $25. Maybe some of yours do the same.
We haven't used it in a while, but we've had good experiences using them for local restaurants.
Sometimes there are also codes that take a certain percentage off.. I'm not sure if there are any out right now, though.
We have used them a several local restaurants and we like them! I always get them with a promotion code. I consider them more of a coupon then a real certificate becaus there is usually limits to how you can use them. For example, the one we use you can only use the $25 GC for lunch. If you want to use it for dinner then you have to purchase $50 GC. Either way, its still a good deal!
I also recommend opentable.com. A lot of restaurants do their online reservations through them. Every time you use opentable to make a reservation and you KEEP the reservation, you get at least a 100 points. Every 1,000 points you get, you can trade in for a $10 gift card to any of opentable's participating restaurants.
The great part is that some restaurants have 1,000 point reservation times. So by dining at 6:55 instead of 7:00, I get 1,000 points instead of 100. And it's all free.
The important thing to remember is you have to book through their website. If you chose Maggiano's for example, and booked through Maggianos.com, you don't earn points. Only if through opentable. AND if you make changes to the ressie, you have to do it through their website. But you make the ressie literally 20 minutes before you go to the restaurant. So free giftcards!
I love restaurant.com. sign up on the website & they are always sending you codes for 50, 60 or even 70% off. Two weeks ago I bought $25. gift certs (coupons) for only $3.00! I bought a $10. one for $ .90!! Anyway to save money - I'm in!
We ended up using one tonight. This thread reminded me that we still had one left
Most of the restaurants around here say that you have to spend $35 to be able to use the $25, but that's not hard to do for our family. I think we spent $18 total for a really nice meal (plus the cost of the certificate, which was $5).
It's hard to eat a nice meal out for that cost around here, so that was a great deal!
