We returned yesterday after 15 nights / 16 days at Disney. It was our longest trip ever! Every trip gets a bit longer and better
Myself, DH, DD16, DD13
I'd like to start by saying that we enjoyed every single meal. Some were better than others, but all were good. Our service was excellent the entire trip!
We were two nights Beach Club (paying OOP for meals) and thirteen nights of free dining at POFQ.
We ate at ESPN, Beaches and Cream (ice cream only), and Boardwalk Pizza Window OOP while at BC. All were great. Especially enjoyed the ESPN dingers and No Way Jose sundaes.
Really enjoyed Pineapple floats (AKA Dole Whips) at Beach Club.
We also ate at the following Table Service places:
Crystal Palace - prepark opening breakfast, always a favourite and our MUST DO every trip. Pooh's puffed french toast and made to order omelettes.
Tusker House- amazing breakfast and juice
Boma- great variety at dinner. DD's tried some different foods which was nice to see.
1900 Park Fare- late breakfast. The Mad Hatter was fabulous! He kept yelling at Mary Poppins, telling people she was a 'bad nanny'. He must be exhausted after entertaining everyone. Our most enjoyable character interaction for sure!
Le Cellier- fabulous poutine!
Via Napoli- Fungi pizza and white four cheese pizza - It was fine. I know a lot of people love VN, but we just find it ok. It was our second time here and probably won't return. Youngest DD loves the blood orange fresca.
San Angel Inn- ambiance great, food ok. Tables really close together.
Chef Mickey's - once again it was amazing. The food at dinner was great, characters terrific, service awesome. This place gets such poor reviews but we have enjoyed it every single time (probably our 8th time eating here). We all said this was a must do again next year.
Be Our Guest - our absolute favourite meal of the trip. The dinner rolls served warm with the sea salted butter was a delicious start. The steaks, pan fried chicken and scallop meals were enjoyed by all! For dessert we had strawberry cupcakes and the grey stuff. Picture with the Beast was fun and we had never met him before, so it was a new experience for us.
50's Prime Time- cousin Ryan was a hoot at dinner. We had the salmon, chicken pot pie, fried chicken and stuff pork chops. All were fantastic, especially the pork chops. We had PB&J milkshakes - so filling and so yummy. We got our dessert 'to go'. The peanut butter and chocolate cake was delicious, but I miss the Boston Cream Parfait.
Sci-Fi- lunch here was a nice break. We all had shakes (oreo). Food was good- burgers/fries. Veggie burger was really good! It came with sweet potato fries which were fantastic.
Mama Melrose- Fantasmic! lunch package. We ended up seeing Fantasmic! early on in our trip so we 'pixie dusted' another family with our passes later that day. BTW we hadn't see Fantasmic for a few years and we really enjoyed seeing it again this trip. Our lunch with appetizers was terrific- minestrone soup, calamari, caesar salad. Meals of pasta and steak and chicken parm all good. Dessert sampler wasn't very good but we were too full to eat it anyway.
Tony's- it was ok. We had read the bad reviews but tried it anyway. We had wanted to try Liberty Tree Tavern, but it's being refurbished. We ate steak, chicken parm and spaghetti. It was fine. We didn't leave hungry and service was good. We won't likely return, but not because it was awful. There are just too many great places to eat at Disney. The location is fantastic though.
T-Rex-huge portions. We used our Landry card here (birthday reward) and OOP. Loved the rotisserie chicken and fish and chips.
Akershus- late breakfast. Good service. Missed the buffet bar/appetizers but did enjoy the fruit and sweet bread drizzled with chocolate before the meal. Cheesy potatoes as good as ever!
Quick Service
Yorkshire Fish and Chips, France Les Halles, BOG (lunch and breakfast), Columbia Harbor House, Pinocchio's, PORS (ate here twice), POFQ, Wolfgang Puck Express (ate here 4 times lol - we stayed at POFQ so took boat here for wonderful meals of pizza, rotisserie chicken, salmon, baked mac and cheese, bbq chicken salad, greek salads, caesar salads, spaghetti and meatballs, bacon wrapped meatloaf- every meal was amazing).
WPE is awesome, as usual. Ate at Westside WPE once (when DD's went to Disney Quest for the last time- so sad it's closing) and WPE Marketplace three times.
BOG- 8:05am breakfast on August 26th- food was fine but a bonus because we got to ride Mine Train twice before the rope drop crowds. We had two orders of the baguette with two eggs, brie, tomatoes, bacon and one order of chocolate cronut- yum!
BOG- lunch was incredible. We loved it as much as our trip here last time - braised pork and veggie quiche were delicious.
We packed bagels, cereal, etc for breakfast (FYI $14.49 for a 6 pack of bagels at resort
). We did buy a loaf of bread halfway through trip for $2.99 and milk several times.
Noteworthy snacks- butterfinger and pb/chocolate cupcakes, build your own treats at Goofy's, Dole Whip, all American sundae at the plaza, caramel apples and large bag of caramel corn at Karamel Kuche, kaki gori, napolean from France, giant ice cream sandwiches, funnel cakes, peanut butter pie from Contemporary, beignets - all snack credits!
We had such a wonderful trip. Sad it's over. But, booked bounceback for next year
. We ended up booking PORS preferred section for next year. We wanted POFQ but not included this year. We were going to do POP, but decided we liked the regular dining plan so booked PORS. We've been there once before so we know we like it, but we will miss POFQ feeling.
