What happened? Several months ago when I went to the site, I got a big list of participating restaurants in my selected zip code. Now, I input zip code & get a list of category selections to make & end up with 1 restaurant meeting all of the selected categories.

How do I get to the long list of available restaurants?

Julie

Disney owned restaurants do not participate in restaurants.com, so I'm not sure what you saw before. Some of the restaurants at Swan/Dolphin, some at DTD and then other off-site places participate in restaurants.com.

thanks vicki c for your prompt response. I realize Disney spots are a No, but I've gotten the coupons for House of Blues, etc. in the past.

However, tonite I am not getting the complete long list that I have gotten in the near past. So, I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the change, or am I doing something wrong? At the home page, I enter the DTD zip code & click, but don't get the list of restaurants.

Also, regarding only one coupon PER MONTH - has anyone first hand experience of a trip overlapping into another month & using 2 coupons within 2 weeks for the same restaurant? For instance, buy 2 coupons for HOB, use one on 2/25, use second one on 3/3 = 2 different months, but not a month apart.

I just checked and I am getting the restaurants I usually get :confused3
And I have no idea about your other question.. this is the first time I am using it

MamaJessie, I feel like I am in the twilite zone!

I typed in www.restaurant.com, got the window for entering the zip code or state - I tried both. I then got a blank screen except on the left side is a list headed by "Refine Results By" & then a list of "Cuisine", "Alphabetical", "City", etc. When I use this list, I only get 1 restaurant!

Don't know what is happening, but guess I'll just wait & try again tomorrow!

I did Florida --> Northeastern Florida --> Orlando & Vicinity --> Orlando/Orange County and get a list with Shula's, Il Mulino, Giordano's, House of Blues, etc (it's 138 restaurants). But I never had a blank screen on the right side - it sounds more like a browser problem you are having where you screen is not properly refreshing or rendering. I would try a different Internet browser and/or clear your cache and cookies from your browser and try again.

There are two different sites, restaurant.com and restaurants.com. Try the other.

Ah tricky! Yes I used the one without the "s" which is the real one - where I have gotten the gift certificates before. That's the real one -but the OP said that's the one she was using, so I think she *could* still be having a browser-type problem.

I would avoid typing in a specific zip code. I ran a few searches and found the list could vary quite a bit if you limited by zip code.

Lake Buena Vista Zip Code 32830 - 23 matches
Orlando Zip Code 32802 - 45 Matches
Orlando Zip Code 32803 - 50 Matches
Orlando Zip Code 32804 - 48 Matches
Orlando and Vicinity - 284 Matches

So depending on which specific zip code you're running, maybe you're limiting your search down to one based on that?

I'd do an "area and vicinity" search and then sort by restaurant name to most easily find the specific restaurant that you're looking for.

We used a restaurant.com certificate for House of Blues last week. Cost us $2 to buy a $25 gift certificate. Great deal. They took it with no problem. Make sure you sign up for the restaurant.com weekly email newsletter to get the weekly code, which takes up to 80% off the cost of the normal $10 charge (or simply do a google search for "restaurant.com code")

As for the questions about "once per month" - it means "once per calender month." So, for example, you can use one certificate at House of Blues on January 31 and then another one at House of Blues on February 1. Just remember, they don't take them on holidays, so January 1, February 14, etc.. won't work.

I tried restaurant.com, using the usual local zip code. None of Swalphin restaurants showed. Didn't even see HoB.
Could be they sold out and are just taking a break. :confused3

I did see BB King's. I have used a certificate there. Very yummy, good entertainment and service. And parking was only $3, and it was a short walk to BB Kings.

Don't use the zipcode - they were just on there last night, I doubt they are gone today. Il Mulino, Shula's, bluezoo, HoB - all there last night. See my earlier post for how I navigated.

vicki_c is 100% correct.
Have no idea why they do not show up that way (under zip code). The certainly use to, as I have never searched for anything but under a zip code. :confused3
Well, they shouldn't sell out as fast now. ;)

I see now they call The Outback Restaurant "Original Outback".
Bet lots were confused on that one.

I also thought the 1 per month referred to "calendar" months, not days. So, I called restaurant.com & held on during my 8 minute wait. I was advised it is 30 days, not calendar month. I discussed it thoroughly, indicating the site terms state month, not days. However, she stuck to her guns & insisted it is days. Would love to hear if anyone tried 2 coupons within a few days or week of each other but in a different calendar month.

Re: the website problems, she said that 2 weeks ago they changed their software & my Adobe program needs to be updated. I went to my pc's Adobe 9 program & clicked to update & got message "no updates available". Mine was last updated on 11/10/10. So,.....I don't know. I have already purchased (cost $2) our coupon for HOBs for our February trip, so I'm set. Just thought it would be nice to look at the entire list in case there is someplace else we would like. Also would love to be able to spend 2 coupons for HOB during our 3 weeks, late February thru middle March - love that Shrimp & Crawfish Ettouffee (sp?) - which is not on some of the online menus, but it is on the restaurant's menu - had it in November - so so so so good!

Thanks everyone for your help. Julie
