Just wondering if anyone has an opinion about Restaurant Akershus at Epcot. We are thinking about doing this eatery for lunch on our upcoming trip. We enjoy seafood, as well as most standard menu items. Was wondering if they put out a nice lunch buffet with variety. Do they offer a kids menu? Thanks!:wave2:

Lunch is not as extensive in variety as dinner but it's still good. At Akershus now, you order your entree (you can get more than one, though) from the menu and get salads, sandwich meats, soup, etc., from the buffet. There is a kids' menu and it has some very basic stuff (grilled cheese, for example) as well as things like meatballs. One thing about this buffet that is different from the others we've visited is that desserts are extra.

I'm not a big cold fish eater, and I've still always enjoyed Akershus. The only thing that I've consistently not found to be good is the soups -- perhaps that is just my taste!

Its dh and my favorite restraunt. The 3 ds refuse to eat here. The lunch and dinner hot choices are different. I know for lunch we had the lamb, salmon (delicious) and I think trout for ds, there is a pasta offering too I think. You can also get the viking favorites side dish too as well as the cold offerings. My dh ate all 6 kinds of herring on the cold buffet. I stuck to the pasta salad, breads, cheese etc. Everything is delicious. For kids I know some of the entrees off the menus they can pick come with grapes and goldfish crackers. Dessert is extra but good, we had the mouse and berry tart. Know the kids next to us got chocolate milk, it was the only thing that kept the little guy from screaming.

Lunch is less expensive with different offerings, but just as delicious.

....on eating lunch at RA. I am sure my dw and ds will enjoy it as will I. I am not too sure about dd, who is 11 and a very picky eater. Perhaps if they have pasta with sauce and meatballs she should be okay. Thanks again!

I love Akershus and have only eaten lunches there. On the buffet they always have sliced breads, cheeses, ham, turkey or Roast Beef or all three. There is a green salad and potatoe salad that are pretty much similar to american style salads and then other salads that the 11 year old might want to pass on though they are really good they just look different. The hot items are probably not going to thrill her but she could fill up on the lunch meats and salad.
