What is your preference? Quick eats, or a dining event? Value, buffets, or sit-down?

I like Prime Time Cafe for comfort food at Disney Studios and Brown Derby.
I like Tony's for Italian, especially during the Night Parade, and Liberty Tree in magic kingdom, but really like Main Street bakery and ice cream more.
I like Canada in the world showcase for steaks, and Japan for hibachi
I do not have Animal Kingdom experience-- we ate the Rainforest twice.

Best food in a resort hotel for a character breakfast was at Grand Floridian. Big buffet.
Best valued variety buffet is te Contemporary California Grill
The Hoop De Doo Review is nice for a fun evening, and the fried chicken and corn aren't bad.

The nicest dining experiences are probably at Dolphin and Swan or at Boardwalk resort,

This question is WAY too open-ended ;-)
Well, let me give you my personal opinion:
MK:
For quick service, we like both Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's (Cosmic Ray's is a little easier to navigate and has AWESOME condiments...don't mock me until you see them!)
As for table meals, we've done Tony's which was good. For an awesome meal AND experience, do the Cinderella's table...wel worth the price of admission. Crystal Palace has a really nice buffet. Lots of options and they are very tasty.

DHS:
For quick service, we love Pizza Planet. Nice size portions w\ great tasing food.
We have LOVE Sci-Fi diner for the experience...the food is marginal. But you won't go wrong with a sandwich or buregr and their mile shakes were off the hook.
We've done the dinner show for Fantasmic at Mama Melrose. Not bad food but not an overwhelmingly memorable experience.

AK:
Do breakfast at Tusker House. Delicious and usually quick.
Any of the quick service meals are decent here.

EPCOT:
Le Cellier...hands down my favorite. Aside from here though you have a boat load of options in the countries.

If you ask 10 people about where to eat, you'll probably get 10 different answers...LOL!
There are also a number of restaurants at the hotels that are good as well. ust depends on if you want to venture outside of the parks.

thread a couple of years ago about the worst restaurant at WDW. Eventually every restaurant was named including Victoria & Albert's.

Counter service

MK - Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Ray's and Pecos Bill's
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons, Tangierine Cafe, Sommerfest and Yorkshire County Fish & Chips
DHS - hard to find very much here. We usually eat at Studio Catering, Backlot Express or Fairfax Fare
Animal Kingdom - Flame Tree BBQ or Pizzafari
DTD - Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express

Table Non Signature

MK - Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) and the Plaze Also can do Kona at the Poly or Grand Floridian Cafe for a more peaceful meal

Epcot - Biergarten, Le Cellier (lunch), Chefs de France, Via Napoli, Rose & Crown

DHS - 50s Prime Time and Sci Fi (lunch)

Animal Kingdom - Tusjer House and Yak & Yeti

DTD - Raglan Road and House of Blues (have not been there since they changed their menu)

Signature

Victoria & Alberts at the Grand Floridian
Citrico at the GF
Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge
Flying Fish at the Boardwalk
Blue Zoo at the Dolphin
Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge

We went for our first ever Disney trip last year during the last week in October. It was a slower, but not super-slow time for WDW, as I understand it. We had no idea what to expect going in and didn't have any advanced dinner reservations. That said, we were generally able to find somewhere cool to eat every night that we wanted to. My advice is to see the concierge desk when you check in and let them guide you. It's we did and we had a great time.

That said, on our next trip I intend to have a bunch of "must do" places reserved at the 180 day mark :cool1:

I guess I should probably offer a suggestion while I'm at it, to be a little more useful for you. My wife and I grabbed a dinner at the Big River Grill on the Disney Boardwalk. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the patio, just before nightfall, which then led in to us enjoying all the street performers on the boardwalk when dinner was over. If you have the opportunity to have that experience, I recommend it. Big River Grill isn't anything "special," (ie, no theming or characters or anything) but it was such a nice night that I think it was probably my favorite dinner of the trip.

Actually - that's not true. My FAVORITE dinner of the trip was somewhere else, but it is offsite, so you'll need a car. It was a chain Mexican place called Chevy's, very close to Downtown Disney. But like I said, it's offsite, and I don't know if you're planning to do that.

Good luck! :thumbsup2
