Hello all!

We ( DH,DW,DS8) are going to WDW for 9 days in November. My question is we are planning out the entire time ( trying to!) and are not sure what to do as far as relaxing time.
Most customer service agents at Disney have said most people who are staying longer than 7 days have been taking one day off to enjoy the resort where they are staying as opposed to doing the half-day park/ half-day rest thing. I would like to spend a day not rushing to enjoy the Coronado resort, it seems so nice.

How do people typically plan regarding relaxing time?

TIA

We are going for 10 days and have 2 rest days planned. One at the resort, the other at Downtown Disney. We usually have a nice breakfast somewhere and then go wherever the day takes us. Makes it so nice!!

We usually spend time at a water park (TL is the family favorite), enjoying the resort, visiting other resorts we want to try, heading to DTD, biking, renting water craft, catching a movie.

We are planning 10 days in October and multiple family members will be joining us at the beginning of our trip. We have planned a down day with no plans right in the middle - then it will just be the 4 of us. This day will be used to sleep in, maybe go to a water park if we're up to it or sit by the pool and maybe do a load or two of laundry - the facilities are located adjacent to the pool so we plan on throwing a load in, jumping in the pool while it's going, etc. I think that it will help the kids not get too overloaded and regroup for 4 more days of theme parks!!!

We usually plan a rest day during the middle of our trip. It seems to make sense since you can tire out after 3 or 4 days of parks. The day off in the middle of your vacation allows you to recharge for the second half of your trip.

At least that is the theory anyway. It works for our family very well. We also like to sleep in on our day off from the parks. We don't feel rushed at all. We just go with the flow. No plans or commitments on that day.

Have a great time!

We were there for 9 full days and most of a tenth one. We had two non-park days. That being said, on one of those days, some of our group went to Typhoon Lagoon for 3 hours, but then came home and relaxed. Also, on these days we played mini golf and/or went to the Village. So, while we didn't go into the parks, we still did something "Disney-oriented" in addition to hanging out at the pool.

We also pick a day in the middle. Once when I was there for 10 days we did 3 days at Disney, then we visited friends for 1 day. We went to Universal for 2 days, took another day for a water park and finished up the last 2 days at Disney.

It worked out well but I was still so tired on the 10th day. :)

We are staying 10 days with a 7 day park hopper. We didn't want to waste 1st and last day tickets in the parks, so those will essentially be rest days for us, plus one in the middle. What we have planned so far is to explore Disney property, different hotels, DTD, boardwalk etc. There is so many relaxing things to do, it won't be hard to find something to think of. I found a great link at mousesavers.com go to the left hand side of the screen for Disney freebies, then WDW free and cheap stuff to do, they had lots of great ideas for exploring that I never even knew about. Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

on our next visit we will be in florids for 23 days and taking off sat and suns, last year we were there for 14 days and we took 1 day off we slept and my dtr went to the pool later it was nice and relaxing,

we go off season which it i think will be when you are there( unless you are there over thanksgiving) & so would apply...since it is not really crowded nor hot we usually don't take a mid day break but eat a lesurely lunch at the park then every 5th day or so take an out of park day and go to dtd, have late breakfast...the only time we did not do this was last time...we had aps so we went to the parks everyday( 9!!) but sometimes just for a couple hrs.( to see fantasmic,mk for the mickey statues that were there, ect) instead of taking a break day

We are arriving Thanksgiving Day and staying 10 days. We don't want to go to the parks when they are crowded so we are resting 3 of the first 4 days :flower: . We booked CSR specifically because we won't be leaving the resort much (maybe a day at AK but undecided) and want to enjoy the resort. When we are doing parks the following 6 days we will have moved to POP. Just need a bed to sleep.
