Ressies Necessary for Jiko's?

Dh and I will be at the Food and Wine Festival for a week in Mid-October and would like to eat at Jiko's one day. For those that frequent Jiko's, do you think it will be necessar to make a ressie for a Monday or Tuesday evening when it's just the two of us? I prefer just going over to AKL whenever we feel like it, but I can be more structured and call to make ressies if it's necessary. This board is great!

I think I would have a look at the schedule for the food and wine fest. as there is an event going on at Jiko one night and you should be careful not to clash. The other thing is that with the festival going on, some people come specifically for this and are looking for good food. Jiko qualifies as one of these venues to head for. Also with the dining plan, it is more important than ever to make ADR's as people may be planning their vacation around meal credits. Suddenly restaurants are booked up for the night, whether people show up for their ADR or not.

In conclusion (sorry for rambling )I would book any ADR that I definately wanted because I just wouldn't take a chance with all the factors against me.

If you definately want to eat at Jiko then make a reservation.

Don't worry about any of the food/wine fest special events being held there, they are held in the private room, they do not interfear with the dining room guests.

If you don't want to make a reservation..then I would just get to Jiko at opening..you can usually squeeze in then, not shortly afterward though the place is usually packed for the night.

Thanks for the quick advice, I will call and make reservations ASAP because we definitely want to dine there and we usually aren't ready to eat at opening time.
