For the resorts that have beaches what are the beach areas like?
Is this a sand area kids play in? I am trying to imagine what a beach is like around a lagoon. How is it keeping kids out of the water. Or is the beach area mostly for sitting and the kids go to the pool. Thanks.

I know that the Poly and the GF have beaches, I would guess that the CR does as well. The Caribbean Beach has a lake, I've never been there so I am not sure if you can sit on the beach there or not.
You may not swim in the lagoon or lakes, the beaches are for relaxing

The beaches are not for swimming. You can wade if you'd like to, but that's some pretty nasty water, and I would personally advise it.

They don't do anything to keep people out, except post a sign that says there's no swimming. If you want some atmosphere to get a tan, I'd reccomend the beach before the pool.

If you want to swim, or you want your kids to swim, I'd stick to the pool. :)

Caribbean Beach does have a beach. It's the only moderate that does. I believe all of the deluxes except for Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Boardwalk also have a beach.

Has a nice beach with hammocks and beach chairs - especially nice for a moderate :)

You can 'wade' but you can't 'swim'?

Highly doubt it - I don't think they want ANYONE in the water...because it IS florida and gators do hang out there

According to Birnbaum's (which is Disney's official guide) you can wade if you want to.

And I'd like to change that line to I would NOT personally advise it!!! :) And just for the reasons you stated!

The Beach Club has a very nice beach with lots of chairs and a great view of the Boardwalk. I don't think it would too much of a problem keeping kids out of that water with Storm along Bay right behind them.:)

FYI - if the kids want to dig and play in the sand, there is a part of Storm along Bay just right for that. Lots of sand area, shallow water and lounge chairs for mom!

The beach at Martinique in CBR is a great place to watch the Epcot fireworks. They have a volleyball court also on the beach.

very very odd
but thanks for the correction.

and I TOTALLY agree with you!

If you're a kid and you need water to go in your sand castle moat, you're gonna wade. Try stopping a determined 4 year old. I just try to make sure the kid has no open cuts or scrapes on the legs and hands and do your best. The beaches at CBR and WL were very nice and, while the water isn't the most pure, it is probably not that much worse than many lakes and rivers.
