I'm helping my family to plan a trip for 3 adults and 2 children (both 4). Are there any resorts at the value or moderate level that sleep 5 (besides the family suites)? Which deluxe sleep 5?
At the moderate level CBR, POR, and the Wilderness Cabins will all sleep 5. For me the problem with all of those options is that each only has one bathroom.

Eligibility = current or retired (career) military, Department of Defense employee, and dependents of these. You have to have eligibility to stay at this military owned resort.
I'm going to guess that it was an RCI trade which would have been illegal, except DVC usually puts out SSR out for trades these days.A one bedroom villa at AKL Kidani sleeps 5, and has a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and 2 full bathrooms. I rented one a couple years ago from an owner off redweek (for a crazy good price; not sure if they were aware that it was well below what Disney was charging over Easter). ...

When you say three adults, what is the relationship there?
We have a family of five, but it's my husband and I and three kids, two of whom are teens. We love staying in AB at POR, but it is really crowded in the room. (We have also stayed at CBR and enjoyed that resort too.) I think all of the deluxes can accommodate five in a standard room except AKL and WL. We have stayed at the Poly and loved it, but I just can't justify paying more than double to stay there when I love POR so much.
However, if it was my husband, me, two kids, and my mom, there is no way I'd want to stay in one room at POR. I have a friend who did the family suites at AoA with her family and her mom, and she felt that even the suite wasn't a great choice. Putting a grandparent in a fold down bed with the kids in the living room doesn't work too well.
If it's a situation like that, the Cabins would work if they don't mind sharing a bath, because parents and kids could be in a room and the other adult would be on the sofa bed. Or, I'd look at off site or staying in two rooms. People always suggest renting points, but I don't like the arrangements for five people even in a one bedroom, and two bedrooms are expensive, even if you rent points.
I think the suite will work very well for that situation! I hope they have a great trip!Thank you. These are all good points. It's for my parents, my brother, and my brother's kids. They decided to go with the AoA suite. This way my parents can have the bedroom, the kids the murphy bed, and my brother the sofa bed (he doesn't sleep much). I thought that one room would be too small too. They definitely wanted to stay on site, but I'm not sure why they didn't want 2 rooms at Pop. (That's what I would've done.)
Two rooms not only aren't guaranteed to connect, they're not even guaranteed to be in the same building.but I'm not sure why they didn't want 2 rooms at Pop.
