wondering if anyone has ever gone to either Basin Harbor or Tyler Place in Vermont? what did you think?

I haven't been but the Stowe Mountain Lodge Resort is AMAZING!!:thumbsup2

I've been to the Tyler Place twice. We had a really nice time. The grounds are beautiful. There is tons of stuff to do. The accomodations are very comfortable, not fancy. The whole theme is doing activities and socializing with other parents. The kids have a ball, and the parents can mingle for cocktails and dinner (which are off-limits for kids). The food is fantastic. It's like a wonderful summer camp for the whole family. You are most likely out-of -luck for this summer, unless there are cancellations (can't hurt to try). Usually families go back year after year, the same week each summer. They really think of everything. You can be as active or relaxed as you want (there are hammocks all along the lake). Everyone gets a bike upon arrival. Please PM me if you have any questions. We are not returning this year because my son has asperger's, and it didn't go so well for him last summer.

Thanks for the info, they do have availability end of august. What did you mean about dinner off limits for the kids? Maybe it's not for us I like to be with the kids for vacation activities

is it more geared toward kids activities and separate adult activities?

I have a friend who loves Tyler Place. She mentioned that the activities for the kids and adults are separate, and yes, the kids do not eat dinner with the adults.

The activities sound terrific, though.

The place in Stowe that golfgal is talking about is the Trapp Family Lodge. It is beautiful up there and there are lots of fun outdoor activities to do in Stowe.

We go here every year. It is in Lake George, NY.
