we have family that wanted to do a last minute trip to join us and they can't get a room at any resort, they were told everywhere is fully booked. What does this mean for crowds?? I was told over and over not to worry about crowds, it's just free dining ect......let me tell ya,we are getting worried!! For us, we just don't like being packed in like sardines and extreme wait times. Is this what we are probably going to see?? We will be in MK Sat the 14th, HS Sun the 15th.

Please tell me I'm missing something? I feel like it's going to be as crowded as Christmas and summer!!

It's party season and the MK is only open late one night for non-party guests. Saturday is a non-party night and EMH. It's going to be crazy crowded, regardless of the resort occupancy rate.

I would be trying to swap and do the MK on Sunday.

I did a quick search for a stay at Disneyworld during those days and pulled up 10 resorts with availability.

Our 1st day is the 14th. Im praying that the parks will be managable. Im bringing my parents for their 1st trip ever.

Were you looking at a very short stay? I am wondering if they are holding rooms aside for people staying longer. I had the same experience when I was looking for a one night stay in late September ... I had VERY limited options (all the moderates booked but Coronado for example). I did another search for a longer stay a few days later and got more options. Not sure if things opened up because of cancellations or whether they are reluctant to book rooms for less nights.

They are coming for a short stay, 13-16....called and looked online. Nothing. If they come only the 15-16 I was able to find resorts.

The resorts are wide open for 11/13-14 but are limited for 11/13-11/16 check in and out respectively. The one night stay you can find almost every resort and multiple room categories available. For the whole weekend only deluxe and expensive categories are available.

FWIW, it really does not matter. We have been when the resorts were sold out and it was not any more crowded than it should have been for the time of year. Disney is never "not crowded" anymore. As PP mentioned, I would avoid any non party day at MK like the plague. EVERYONE will go to MK on the days with longer hours and night time entertainment. You will get far more done on a party day even with limited hours.

Also, just because they come up in the search, you still have to click " check availability" and that's when it says nothing available for those....

There are resorts available for those days but they are all deluxe or DVC resorts. GF, CR, AK Kidani, etc are all available for those dates

Did you try calling as well just to double check ? I still would not be worried. It will be crowded especially the Saturday at MK but everything else should just be "normal crowded."

They could book offsite and meet you at your resort. They will allow your guests to park and head off with you to the parks. They just need to give your name/room to the guard and that they are your guest.

Also last weekend of Food & Wine, plus free dining. Everything I've read is that free dining packs them into the resorts but doesn't increase park attendance per se. Same number of visitors, just more people staying onsite who would normally stay off-site.

MK on a non-party Saturday with EMH is going to be REALLY crowded. I know that's not the answer you were looking for but it's true. You can still have a magical time but it will have longer waits than if you went on a different day.

Orbitz - Disney Resorts - 11/13 - 11/16 - no rooms available

I'm pretty sure at least some of those dates are also when they're filming the ABC Christmas Parade in MK. I've never been to that, and I don't know too much about it, though, so I have no idea if that could be a factor in availability or not.

I was thinking that too, they have to have rooms for the performers participating plus the crew.

I don't have experience with these specific dates, but I have traveled several times in Halloween party season when free dining was going on. Most resorts were booked solid but parks were the same moderate to maybe moderate+ level expected for the time of year. I have never been on a crowd level 8-10 day despite multiple stays with sold out resorts.

Some times rooms aren't available just because of the patter of people checking in and out. So there may be rooms available for 1 or 2 of the 3 nights, but not the 3rd. I wouldn't worry too much about the crowds you should be fine. AND you can't change it now so go and have a great time.

As for family there are some Deluxe resorts open. If they are flexible try playing with the dates. They are filming for the Christmas parade in MK on the 13th and 14th which may have the resorts extra booked.

I had the same problem though I booked a couple of weeks ago now. I kept checking and eventually something not in the $800 range popped up - it was my last search right before I was about to give up and say "oh well, not gonna happen."

Best I can say is keep checking and something might pop up!! Also, did you try Swan and Dolphin? What about off site hotels? It was going to be my next step since I'll already have a rental car because of other things we're doing in Fl.

I just checked Expedia and it shows all resorts booked up. I don't remember ever seeing every resort booked like this but I agree that it's a good idea to keep checking.
