Resorts CAN'T be full for Dec!

There have been several postings claiming little or no availability at WDW resorts for the first half of Dec.

But now Mousesavers reports new codes good Dec 1-25 with discounts "from 25% to 40%" at most resorts. Disney would not be doing this if the resorts were booked anywhere close to capacity. Obviously there are still a lot of rooms out there for Dec!

This is the exact conversation I had this morning with Disney. The CM thought it was strange, too.

I checked this morning and I couldn't find anything in the Deluxe category with check-in on 12/4 for 7 nights. There was much more availability with the discount after 12/8 though.

December weekends probably are booked solid. Disney often offers codes/discounts/postcards when only certain weekdays are available. I've run into that myself many times in the past.

IIRC correctly, every post that reported not being able to get a December reservation was looking for the weekend nights (Friday and/or Saturday). As we DIS'rs know, there are many Holiday events/activities going on at this time. There are lots of people who live within driving distance that choose to visit for a weekend during this time. I am not at all surprised that weekend nights in December are tough to find at this time. I can still remember when you had to book at least 6 months ahead of time to get an on site room.

I agree that the weekends are booked because of MVMCP and CP.

I called today to try and upgrade to Polynesian Concierge with a code, and nothing was available at any rate anywhere on the property.

I am referring to the weekend of December 6-8th. There is also a pin event at Disney/MGM Studios on December 7th.
