Hope this is the right board to ask this ? since it pertains to the resorts. I know you can order a Christmas Tree from WDW Florist, but from what I understand they come w/decorations not lights. Does anyone know if there is a fire code against having lit (artificial) trees in the resort rooms? Before plunking down $50 for the tree I have in mind, I thought I better ask the experts! I may call the resort and ask if no one knows. Thanks in advance, everyone!

I had a christmas tree in our resort room last year at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I put lights on it and nothing was ever said. In fact a couple of times we came back to the room and the housekeeper had lit the tree so it was on when we came back. I have even seen people put Christmas lights around the resort window.

I think you can put them on your own tree. I would make sure they are the right type of light. Have a great time.

your string of lights have the UL approved tag on them. We have had a tree with lights, as well as other lights in our villa and on our deck at OKW.

The tree we had from the Disney Florist had tiny clear lights on it - so beautiful to have as we came back from the parks and sat down and looked at it! It did, indeed, reflect the beauty of the the holiday away form home. My dad had just recently died that year and my 82 yr young mom took 21 of us just as they both had planned for their 50th anniversary. We stayed at Old Key West and at that time it was fine to have it in the unit. If you are in doubt, contact the resort.

thanks so much for all your replies! WOW-the hotels must look beautiful from the outside with guests' lights! I'm sure the tree I'm looking to order has UL approved lights, so I guess I'll go ahead and plan on decorating the room!! Again, I appreciate all your input!!

we had our own tree at the CR last christmas and i saw a lot of people with the some really big ones

I have a trip scheduled in December and would like a tree for our room at AKL. I noticed Minniemmom said she found one ad WDW florist she liked. How can I find out what WDW florist has to offer and the price. Is there a website for this?
Thanks!

disnaholic...I have the same question! Is there a website that lists Christmas tree prices? Thanks!

Besides our tree, (just a small table top tree) we made a walmart run, and bought lights so we had our CR room decorated with little x-mas lights around window, and large round mirror and garland on the balcony! Our tower room also had a large red bow on the door and x-mas bells, kids would run by and ring them (I think we annoyed the neighbors). Several people when we would be going into our room commented, it really didn't take that long to do, it was quick and we did pick it all up before we left didn't want housekeeping to have to do it. But it was well worth it, we came home right before x-mas and the anticipation was great!

There is really a lot of things you can do that are quick and simple just to make it feel like the holiday. Even works with birthdays. I've sent my sister down for shopping and completely "happy birthday'd" the room before she even got back!

Remember don't wait for that towel animal, do it yourself!

Thanks for the link and all the info!!!

We take a tree every year to FW and put it up in our cabin. We also put garland around the beams in the cabin & lights around the outside deck. We have a set of small wooden ornaments that we hang around the top of the golfcart. We secure them with duct tape & cover the tape with garland. We put big bows on the front & back of the cart. We even have a set of 12 volt lights that I tap into two of the golf cart batteries. We have never had any CM give us a problem. We usually check in and spend the afternoon decorating and getting into the xmas spirit then hit the park later. We also ride around on our cart on xmas eve and enjoy everyone trading "merry christmas" with each other.
