If you were choosing a resort based soley on ease of WDW transportation to the parks, which resort would you choose and why?

And at the other end of the spectrum, is any resort known to have long waits and other transportation problems?

Hands down, the Polynesian. Here's why:

(1) Monorail or water launch to MK

(2) Walkway to TTC to board Epcot monorail. At TTC you can access Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, as well as having the option of taking the monorail/ferryboat to Magic Kingdom. This works if you're staying at Rapa Nui or Tahiti, the farthest longhouses.

(3) The bus stop is centrally located. It's one stop. You might share a bus with the Contemporary, but it's no more than a few minutes' diversion.

Every important park is easily (and quickly) accessible.

The Epcot Resorts (YC, BC, Boardwalk, Swan, Dolphin) are deceptive. It's quick and easy to get to MGM or Epcot, but a pain in the butt to go everywhere else. For one, youur hotel will share a bus with the other Epcot resorts (as many as 4 stops!); more buses may run during busier times.

Completely agree with sotoalf.

Would add that you can also take the ferry from MK back to the TTC and make the short walk back to the Polynesian. As we leave the MK, we check our options...resort monorail, small launch (our favorite) or ferry. The ferry is very fast and is close to empty returning to the TTC midday.

Returning to the Polynesian from MGM or AK, you can take the TTC bus or the Polynesian bus...whichever comes first.

I agree about the Poly! We stayed at Rapa Nui and could walk to Disneys lost and found center from there, too.

Have to agree. However, didn't they recently change some of the bussing for Epcot resorts? Resorts going to certain places (AK and MK maybe?) now each have their own bus?

With the Epcot resorts it changes, maybe based on occupancy rates? At the Swan we had our own bus to the MK on some mornings and did the circle on others. I would say it depends on which parks are your favorites. I really like to end everyday of our vacation in EPCOT and then walk back to the Boardwalk area, so I think those resorts are the best.

When we stayed at the Cont, we had to share bus service with the other deluxes. The monorail going to MK had to make 3 stops. It was quicker to walk.

CSR doesn't share their transportation with any other resort and is very efficient.
