Resort with best internet?

This past March my DH and I stayed at the Poly from Mar 1-15th - it was not technically a vacation as we both work remote so we relied heavily on the internet. (The worst day working at Disney is better than the best day working at home!) The internet speed was abysmal - we would have used the CR's business center but it was closed - he actually ended up renting office space nearby as he had to do a remote presentation and really needed the internet to be fast and reliable. So I am trying to do this sort of thing again this year - if you could stay ANY where on property and needed good internet - where would you stay? If the business center at the contemporary is going to be opening - will the internet there be better than the internet we experienced?

We also work remote and we don't go anywhere unless we know the internet is reliable and at least the same, if not better than what we have at home. Unfortunately, Disney and reliable Wi-Fi do not go hand in hand and while you can't ever 100% guarantee Wi-Fi will always cooperate, I think Disney is not known for their cutting edge technology.

While I would guess the answer might be no, I would ask if the business center has dedicated ethernet cables you can plug your laptop into and also ask about their Wi-Fi reliability at the BC vs in the resort room. I also would doubt that the BC is private so doing a presentation with other people around would be really distracting.

I would check with your cell provider to see what sort of hot spot service you could get that way you are running your internet off the provider's cellular network. Now if you're not near a cell tower, that might not be any better but it could be an alternative if the Wi-Fi is not efficient. As far as what kind of resort would be better for service, my guess would higher floor so maybe a resort like CSR in the new tower and request a higher floor.

Doubt anyone can answer this. Wifi speed/connectivity will partly depend on where you are located (i.e. how far from the signal device), any structural issues that cause dead spots as well as how many other people are currently using wifi. You have no way to know how many others are trying to access the internet and clearly it will vary based on time of day/occupancy rate/etc. Lots of people streaming movies, uploading/downloading large files or watching internet TV will likely happen in the evening when more people are generally in their rooms vs being at the park.

There are some similar recent threads and even the business center may no longer have plug-in capability and use the wifi everyone else uses. Wifi is more reliable then a few years ago and the lack of a wired connection in your room is clearly an advantage anytime they are doing remodeling. Probably have to contact the business center where you will be staying to determine their method of connectivity. I imagine they will say their service is reliable since I doubt they would really know.

I'd venture to say one of the convention resorts may be your best bet.
We stay at the GDT at CSR in April and we went 4 for 4 on passes to RotR by using the hotels internet in our room at 7:00 am. Outside of that I'm of no use as I'm always on vacation and tell people not to bother me unless there is a fire or a flood. Ha
