I always try to decorate my window and door at Pop and PO resorts. Our trip last year was during MNSSHP, so I did Mickey's and Minnie's in Halloween costumes - ghosts, witch, vampire, mummy, Maleficent - it was so much fun! I hung them on the door with magnets and used ribbon and suction cups to hang them in the window. I used purple and green Christmas lights (got a corner room, glad I brought both). I loved how it turned out!
We stayed at Pop this summer, and I used neon paper and cut out Mickey heads, peace sign Mickeys, and big flowers and did the same to hang them up. They were so cute, but there were so many layers of paint on the doors, our first night all my magnets blew away (I did find most of them), so I just set them on the windowsill. Our room was the top floor of the 50s section facing the 60s, so no one but us and mousekeeping saw them, but they still made me smile every time we got back to the room!
If we go during a holiday season I decorate the windows. I think I was one of the only ones with a decorated window at ASMo last month. I brought lights but didn't use them like I did when I decorated for Christmas.
Other times of the year I buy some type of solar figure (usually a Disney theme) and put them in my window. It helps me easily find which room is mine.
We grab a bag of suction cups at the dollar store and use that to hang anything. They really can handle anything you put up there. They leave no residue. We hang nothing on room walls, maybe a pop up decoration on dressers/tables.
This is all up with suction cups, even the wood sign at bottom, just used as clips around wood to hold in place.
