We are staying at the AS Movies. We have decided to arrive a day early but have no extra Park tickets. Can we go to other resort to see the decorations for the holidays or do we have to be a guest of the particular resort?

You can visit other resorts. We do every year. The Polynesian will give you a special pass with a time limitation on it but I think that is the only resort that does that.

This is such a great way to visit the other resorts. We always resort hop at Disney. If your driving to each of the resorts you just need to tell the guard that your going to have a drink in the lounge or going to eat there (I've only been denied parking at one resort, Contemporary, as there was a big convention and no extra parking available). Also, you definately may want to make a ressie at a resort hotel rest. just for the experience. If you are using Disney transportation allow yourself extra time to catch the different buses needed to get you to the proper resort.

On our visit we really enjoyed resort hopping. If you don't have a car, you can still resort hop to the Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian pretty easily by taking a bus from the All-Stars to the Magic Kingdom, then using the resort monorail. We did this during one of our scheduled non-park days.

One thing we did that was great was to visit the Animal Kingdom during the day, then about 4pm we bussed over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to look around and have dinner (we had a 6pm PS at Boma, which was wonderful!) We then took the bus to Epcot at about 8:00 to finish the day with Illuminations. What a great day that was:sunny:

Do you have small children?

Take the bus to MK, then take the boat over to Fort Wilderness. There is a small petting zoo and pony rides. You could grab a lunch or dinner at Trails End.

You could also take advantage of the day to do a character meal at one of the hotels.

Lot's of stuff to do w/out actually going into the parks!

Yes, the petting zoo is free. It's small, though. The pony rides are for children under 80#'s. They must wear closed toe shoes & the cost is $3. The zoo is open till sunset & the pony rides stop at 5 pm.

If you stay off site, I think there is parking at FW (3 hour pass, no charge). Ask on the camping brd, they'd know better.
