We're staying at Cornonado Springs next month and are planning to go to the Boardwalk one evening. From what I understand, we should take the bus to Hollywood Studios and walk to take the boat. How long of a walk is it? If we choose to take the boat, how do we get to the boat dock from the entrance to HS?

TIA! :goodvibes

I'm not sure how long of a walk it is...never done it before, but the boat dock is just to the right of the HS entrance.

From the DHS bus stop to the boat dock is maybe a 1-2 minute walk, at most.
Walk from the bus stop to the DHS entrance. Continue right past the entrance area, and it's maybe 100 yards further, down by the water.

If the boat is waiting, you can expect a 7-8 minute ride to the Swan/Dolphin, once it pulls away. It is quicker then to get off there, and walk to the BW area. Another 3-4 minute walk. You can always stay on the boat all the way to BW dock, but that will take another 9-10 minutes from the Swan/Dolphin.

If a boat is not there waiting at DHS, you could just walk away from the HS entrance area, and walk to the BW directly. In the past, it has taken us 12-13 minutes to reach to BW hotel from DHS while walking at a leisurely pace.

Just for orientation purposes, when facing the DHS security bag check area from outside the park, the bus stops are on the left. The boat dock is on the right.

It also depneds on when DHS closes. If want to go after DHS closes, youll prob have to go to DTD and transfer to the Boardwalk bus, or take a cab.

I just wanted to add two things:

The first is obvious.....if there is any chance of rain do NOT attempt to walk from the Studios to the Boardwalk. My DS and I learned that lesson on our last trip. We were walking from the Boardwalk to the Studios one afternoon when the weather was questionable. Once we passed the Boadwalk the only cover was an underpass. The rain started coming down and we ran to the underpass. Once we got there the rain stopped. So we continued and you can imagine what happened. It started pouring and we were stuck in the middle between the underpass and the Studios. There is no cover anywhere in that area. We were totally soaked by the time we got to the park entrance! And, of course, then the rain stopped! Anyway please be aware of any possiblity of rain before attempting this walk. In nice weather it is a very pleasant walk. Luckily for us the hot Florida sun dried us off in no time.

Also, after your meal if you want to grab a cab just walk through any of the Epcot resorts to the main entrance, which is opposite the Boardwalk side entrance. Taxis are normally waiting. If one is not avaiable the Cast Member at the podium will get one for you right away

It might be easier to do this from whatever park you're visiting that day - then just take bus from their to BW / Epcot Resorts ( Epcot & DHS are via boat or walk ).

And as pp noted if depending upon closing time that evening at DHS (or Epcot) you may have to take bus from BW to Downtown Disney & get CSR bus to get back to your resort. If MK has EMH that evening you could bus from BW to MK and get CSR bus there.

The walk from DHS to BW takes less than 20 mins. I do it in about 15 mins, moving at a bit quicker than normal pace. It's a pleasant walk unless it's hot/humid or raining. In those cases, take the boat.
The walkway to BW is easy to find. Just head past the gates to DHS, towards the canal. Walk down along the sidewalk, with the buses on your right, and you'll end up on the walkway to BW...canal on your left.

Thanks again, everyone! :goodvibes

The funny thing is we are going to HS that day, but we are planning to take a swim break and get changed for dinner, so we'll be leaving from CSR.

It seems best to go back to HS and take the boat or walk (thanks for all the tips!) TO the Boardwalk. I am a little concerned about getting back though. DH is not going to be happy about all of that bus transferring late at night and out of the way (EMH are at AK, so we'd have to go to DTD), especially since we were orginally going to drive and have a car (his preference, so guess what I would hear the whole time ;).

Anyway, it seems like it may be worth it to take a cab FROM the Boardwalk to CSR. (thank you, wdwgoofeeee for the cab tips)

Does anyone know about what a cab would cost from the Boardwalk to CSR?
