Resort Swap COMPLETE

I'm actually using Jesse James buttons for my AKL pieces too. (I order from www.shellysbuttonsandmore.com) and they do have shanks. I use a wire cutter to snip them off. It's too hard with scissors -they are too thick, but the wire cutter pops them right off.

Well -- would it too much repetition for me to use them too? I haven't ordered them yet.

And does the whole shank come off so that the back is flat, or are you left with trying to adhere a kind of bumpy object?

I use these really cool wire cutters that were meant for jewelry, smaller blades.
If you hold the flatter side to the button back, they do usually cut off cleanly.
If not, glue dots work well with the little bit I've had left over.
It goes quickly. 40 would take 10 minutes, tops.

No, the buttons I have are different than the ones you posted.

AWM said it exactly right about the bumpiness. The wire cutters I use are jewelry ones too and I use glue dots to adhere them either way so it doesn't matter if there are a few bumps. I agree with her about the time too. Very quick.

When I picked the original colors (last month), I was going off my swatches and I had checked that they were all in stock at www.acherryontop.com, but I didn't actually order any of them, so they may have been updated to be discontinued since that time. I don't know of a way to find out which ones are discontinued - maybe someone more familiar with Bazzill might know? If you find ones that aren't available, then just use your judgement to pick a different shade and post what you chose - others might find that helpful.

wall*E - I'm assuming that it's Skyline you had trouble getting? A cherry on top does have some. I'm thinking Steel Blue would be similar also.

Thanks. I am off to that site to check it out.

I could not find Skyline and checked my swatches. I ordered Slate Blue. I think I will have enough.

I cut out all the pieces. I had enough blue. I have one completely assembled. The other six are being put together. I hope to have all done soon.

I ordered my paper from A CHerry on Top yesterday. 50 dollars later I am sitting here waiting. Thinking about building the new house....I am realizng how much I am spending on swapping.

Question for this Group

Group IA - Animal Kingdom Lodge Group 2 - MAKE 10
1. velrox - borders
2. AWM - photo mats
3. NEE - license plate
4. ZeroToHero - Box and Tag
5. SusieStone - paper piecing
6. SIOH - topper
7. 123SA - shapes
8. hopemax - flocked animals
9. Michellepooh - journal boxes
10. kkbeaton2 - shaker box

What do you think about a title welded and double shadowed in SCAL that reads "Savannah"? In place of the shapes, that is. I'd use the DCWV safari stack. I checked with our hostess who suggested I put it to a majority vote.

There is no way all the things we are getting will fit on a single two-page layout.

A second title/topper option sounds good to me.

I vote yes.:thumbsup2

As long as SIOH was not going to do it, I vote yes as well. I can't see any reason why someone would not be able to use that. :thumbsup2

Finished All Star Movies and I have everything cut for the "Savannah" AKL piece.

I am still waiting for my paper to get here for A Cherry on Top. It shipped on Monday.

Sounds good to me!

Boy! You guys are fast. I feel really far behind already, but inspired. Just spent too much money at A Cherry On Top.

I haven't even started this yet - tonight is my night to go through my Bazzill and see what I already have, then place my order for whatever I need. I already have all my ideas sketched out though so it's just a matter of starting.
