Mom and I are so excited we were given the green light for dl next summer 2005. Since, we have never been west of oklahoma and more than likely not to go again anytime soon we are interested in a suite. Any suite. At any dl resort. We are looking at end of june or the first of july(trying to miss the 4th, too many people). There will be 4 adults and one 12yr old (which I think they consider an adult?).

1) We would love to stay in a suite, but which one. Anyone out there have a favorite? What makes it your favorite?

2) When can we book, we had sumitted a request and was told those rates were not out yet. I know at wdw you can book the room now and when the rates do come out they will adjust it accordingly. Do they also do this at dl?

3) This question is for dad. Is there any place to golf nearby?

Any information will help as we have just started our reseach on dl.

Thanks,

I toured through a couple of suite hotels in February - the Portofino, Hampton Suites and Residence Inn. And one or two others that didn't make much of an impression on me.

I liked the Hampton and Residence Inn best. The Portofino was okay, but not as nice as the other two.

I've contacted Residence Inn about a suite for myself for summer 2005, but have been told they won't have rates in their reservations system until about a year out.

As for golf nearby, there is golf in the general area. I don't think there are any shuttles to the courses, but if you don't have a car then you should be able to take a cab there. My DF's family lives in the area and his dad golfs.

<font color=navy>I have pics of the Residence Inn Anaheim - go to the link at the top & scroll down for hotels. I really like this hotel as the grounds are nice, and so are the rooms (I just saw the simple suite, not the one-bedroom suite).

I took pics of the Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area -- the rooms are really nice here, and the grounds pretty decent with grills, a pool & court. I saw the kids suite here & it was really nice, w/bunk beds.

I also like the Embassy Hotel South (near Residence Inn Resort Area). Although I didn't see inside the rooms, the hotel itself is nice, with a pretty atrium in the center.

All three offer fully cooked breakfasts as part of your stay there.

Another economy hotel - Best Western Raffles - has a modest pool, and looks like a two-story motel from the outside - but the rooms were really nice, especially for an economy hotel. I also liked the family suite - very roomy.
