Ok, we have stayed at

All of the All Stars
CBR
CS
DL (when it was just DL)
FT Wilderness
and our last 4 times the WL

Me and hubby absolutely LOVE the WL and we are deciding on going again first of November but cant decide on what resort. We dont want to do the Value, and we would rather do the Deluxe (we are very spoiled by the deluxe resorts now) but I know he wants to stay at the WL AGAIN.

I want to try something new. Does anyone else have the problem of liking just ONE resort and if so, if you stayed elsewhere, how did you get you or your spouse TO APPROVE????

The WL is very nice...but try one of the other Deluxes...what are you going to be doing while you are there? Food/Wine fest by any chance. It is great to stay over at the Boardwalk, Yacht Club or Dolphin during that time. All are excellent and you can walk back and forth after eating and drinking..lol.

DH and I are having the same dilemma except in reverse. We love the WL. I want to stay on our December trip. DH wanted to try somewhere different.

We compormised at now are splitting our stay. 1st we are going to stay at the YC (we are so excited) and then we go Home to the WL.

Have a good time wherever you decide to stay!

We are having the same dilemma here except its my dh,dd, and ds all wanting to return to the WL for the 3rd time! I told them we are going to try something new this time in Jan. I believe we have decided on the Boardwalk. It's a tough decision, we love the WL especially in the wintertime. It came down to the YC or BWI. I looked at all the reviews on this board and in all the travel books and the BWI seemed to get the best reviews. I try to tell my family that it's always exciting to try something new - especially at WDW where you can't go wrong with whatever your shoose!

Why don't you try to convince him to stay at AKL. AKL has many similarities to WL, but with an African theme! Being a WL Vet myself, I always find it difficult to NOT stay at WL(it is like home to us), but it is fun to try other resorts. Many will agree that if you love WL, you will love AKL!

I like the BWI, BC or Dolphin option. The Epcot area deluxes are all nice and the location is awesome. I think the BWI might be nicest after the WL, but Dolphin has some good rates and the SAB at Beach Club is the best pool in the World.

For the past 11 years, since our DD's were 5&6, we have alternated our resort choices between the four of us. It has always worked out great.

Variety AND a sense of anticipation of what the choices would be!

Perhaps you and your husband could do this.

My DH is the same way he hates change. Our first trip we stayed at OKW so from then on we had to stay there. I finally got him to try AKL and know he won't stay anywhere else. I have to say I love it there too! I would say ask your DH to try the AKL. It is very similar to the WL but w/ and African theme. The animals are completely amazing. trust me you both will love it. You may not want to go back to the WL.

We were in the same dilemma for our last trip!! WL..which I love but I wanted to try something different...namely AKL. DH wanted nothing to do with it! So we compromised a split our stay..3 nites AKL/4 Nites WL. We didn't want to leave AKL...everyone LOVED it! DD 6 at the time actually cried when we left! So splitting a stay is an idea (not that I'm a big fan of it b/c I'm the one that has to do all the work). But AKL is very similar to WL so it wouldn't be a "shock" to his system. Now we are in a rut w/ AKL...I'd like to try something different but the family loves it, including me...Good Luck deciding!

I'm assuming you're talking about this November if you're countdown is correct? After reading so many threads that the resorts are sold out in early November, I think your best bet is to call and see what's available before you get your heart set on anything.

I've read the same thing about deluxes being booked solid for the beginning of November so I just got on WDW online reservations. All room types are available at WLR from Nov 1 until 5 but then not available from the 6th on. The have given AKL as an alternate.

Then, I looked at your countdown clock and I think you're looking for Nov 7 or 8? That is booked too and they give CR or BWI as alternates depending on the dates you choose.

We have the same problem, though with different resorts. We both LOVE the GF. That is our home, and I really don't want to stay anywhere else, b/c I feel like I've found paradise there. However, I do kind of feel boring, just sticking with one resort, so we now start out at the different resort, then finish at our favorite one. It is no fun to do it the other way around - this past trip, we went GF to WL to AKL, and I cried when I had to leave the GF for the darker WL - I missed the light, airy rooms! I agree that if you like the WL, you will like the AKL. They are very similar in theming, and both have kind of dark rooms, though the AKL rooms are even darker than the WL ones. We videotape our nightly recaps, and the room was so dark, even with all the lights on, that the only place the camcorder would pick up our images was in the bathroom! So if you like that atmosphere, you will love the AKL, too. I would definitely suggest finishing up the trip with your favorite resort, though, not the other way around.
Cheers!

Hey DawnMaree--totally Off topic, but I have never "met" any one else who had the same spelling of "Maree" that I do!! My name is Ann Maree. Please PM me, and tell me how you got that name. Mine was my grandmother from Iowa. Not sure how she came about with that spelling though. :)
