resort splitting on a budget

If you were going to split a resort stay on a budget, where would you stay. i'm going to Disney World for my honeymoon in early February and think about doing this. We know we would like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge for sure and probably could not afford a deluxe that would be much more expensive that the Contemporary. I know we don't want to stay at a Value. So Would you stay at a moderate? And which one? and for how long? We will be there 8days and 7nights. Thanks for all you help.

POFQ is the smallest of the mods and the most romantic (IMO). It has a boat that will take you to DTD at night. Another moderate that's good is Coronado. Since it's a convention hotel, it's got more amenities than a standard moderate.

I'd do 4 nights there, then the last 3 at either WL or AKL.

I would have to agree. DH & I will probably have to do the same next year since it will be our year to purchase AP's again. We know we want to stay at the Poly next year for our 30th wedding anniversary. (We honeymooned there!) We will probably book either POFQ (DH's fav) or POR. Both are very romantic, IMHO.

I think you would enjoy staying at CBR. It has several beaches around the lake. It also has some great hammocks. You can watch the Epcot fireworks from the beach in Martinique. Very romantic.

I would say Port Orleans but the Riverside side in the Magnolia Bend section, or as some people call them, "the mansions".

Split that with AKL or WL (if you arent from the Pacific NW like I am) and you will have two completely different resort experiences but both very nice and fairly economical. AKL or WL can go for as little as $99.00 a night sometimes!

Might I suggest the Mansion section of POR? It seems a bit more elegant than the Alligator Bayou section of that resort or the other moderates for that matter. POR has a boat launch to DTD as well as many other "deluxe" type amenities. The carriage ride in particular sounds like it would be great for a Honeymoon. Enjoy!
